You have been lingering in my dreams these past nights
And I would nearly call them nightmares except for the fact
That it felt so real and so right,
I wouldn't have known it to be a dream had I not woken up
To the vibrations of my alarm setting off.
I could feel the sunlight warming my oddly chilled skin, and there
Was a breeze that, at some point, messed up our hair
And we laughed
And our laughs echoed to the very depths of my soul, and I ached and woke up with tears spilling my dreary eyes
And I was alone in my bed.
But in my mind, you held onto my hand like you were terrified I would leave
When in reality, aren't you the one that spun your heel and vanished?
