If I had the ability
To fold each and every sad memory
And push it off into the sea,
I would.
I would cradle them in my fists
And look back in remembrance
As a last and final goodbye
Of what often plagued me.
There would be no tears
Nor whispers of remorse
Because the pain and regret
Would be pushed off as well.
I would walk away relieved,
The weight floating off of my shoulders
And a warm smile
To replace
The sorrowful frown.
