Petunia and Albus arrived at Heaven Hogwarts. Petunia was scared when the door she just walked through had shut fast and vanished behind her. She was wondering if she was ever going to be allowed to go back to Vernon when she suddenly noticed the surroundings she was stood in.
The castle was beautiful as it stood grand and high. The grounds were beautiful, clean and beautiful flowers stood everywhere and the birds sang in the trees of the Forest. It was even better than Petunia's garden at Privet Drive could ever have been.
Petunia had fallen in love with this place at once. though she'd never admit as such to her husband. She felt uncomfortable enough saying how she wanted to be like Lily to her son. Albus saw this and smiled.
"Welcome to Hogwarts." he said fondly.
Petunia's joy turned to bitterness and sadness.
"This is Hogwarts?" she snapped, "This beautiful place is what you denied me when I was a little girl?"
Albus said kindly and simply, "Not strictly."
"How do you mean?" demanded Petunia.
"This is Heaven Hogwarts." explained Albus, "The real Hogwarts in the living world is less peaceful, the Forest is full of dangers, and it is certainly not as clean as it is here. This is the Hogwarts you would have imagined of in your desire to attend there when you were younger."
Petunia nodded in understanding, more glad she hadn't missed out on this exact place in life, but she still had bitterness in her.
Then she noticed something from the castle of Heaven Hogwarts. Two figures were watching her and Albus from one of the windows above. Petunia focused her eyes to see if she could make out who they were. She soon noticed they were twins, but they looked familiar...no, surely not! It can't be!
Albus saw them too and by nodding his head, the figures turned and disappeared from view. He saw Petunia's puzzlement and shock.
"Listen carefully, Petunia," he said firmly, "your sister's coming down to see us. But although she has changed in some physical ways, she is still the same little sister you grew up with and deep down in your bitter heart, still love."
Petunia took this in, and was about to deny such emotions, when she saw the great doors open and then saw not just two, but quite a few figures approaching her and Albus.
"Who are they?" asked Petunia worriedly.
"You didn't think that your sister lived here alone?" said Albus humorously.
"Potter?" gasped Petunia. She despised the man.
"Not just him. I believe you might recognise some of these people." said Albus, excited to see how things would go.
Soon the figures were more clearly visible. Indeed Petunia recognised the people. They were friends of James Potter's. Black and Lupin looked either reluctant or respectful towards her and James himself was not at all pleased to see her, but remained on polite terms for his wife's sake.
"Hello, Petunia." he said.
Petunia didn't respond. There were three other things that shocked her. One was that an elf, younger and less uglier than the one she saw when Harry was due to begin his sixth year was standing there with the group, looking nervous. The second was Severus Snape, whom Petunia had especially hated for ever telling lily she was a witch, and the third and most shocking thing was that Snape and James Potter were hand in hand with a different Lily each. Petunia wasn't seeing things. Her freak sister was duplicated.
"T-two of you?" she gasped.
"Yes, Tuney." said Lily Potter nervously, "I'll explain later, but for now, I just want to be with you again. Catch up with my big sister." She looked desperate and pitiful, dreading Petunia's likely refusal to reconcile.
Petunia could see that both of her sisters looked nervous and although she was livid to speak to the perfect sister who overshadowed her in life, she couldn't help but waver. She loved Lily, even though she refused and denied it all her life. But what she couldn't understand was how Lily came to be Lilys. And why was one of them holding hands with that awful man, Snape?
"Maybe we should leave you three in peace?" suggested James.
Albus nodded encouragingly that that was the right thing to do. James and Severus let go of their respective wives and followed Albus, Sirius, Remus, Tonks, Peter and Dobby back up to the castle, while Lily Snape addressed Petunia for the first time.
"We've missed you so much, Tuney." she said, though her voice was breaking with tears.
Petunia didn't reply.
"We missed you at Hogwarts, we missed you even at home because you always avoided us when we were one, and we missed you here." said Lily Potter.
"Clearly, you haven't a clue of how I treated your son." said Petunia, with a mixture of guilt and spite in her voice. She looked uncertainly at both versions of her sister, unsure of which she was supposed to address in this sentence.
"We are perfectly aware of how you abused Harry." said Lily Potter, with a note of anger in her voice.
"However, we forgive you." said Lily Snape, "Heaven is for forgiveness. And despite all you've done to him, Harry is coping well in life. Besides, we both love you, because you are still, alas, our sister."
Petunia was not going to be the bad guy. She was furious that her sister or sisters couldn't understand why she abused Harry. It was because of them being special, making her feel worthless and how she had to endure Harry also being granted the wonders of magic, when she was kept out of it. She had hated all wizards since, and she was not about to change now.
"Tough." she snapped.
Both Lilys looked like they had been dropped into Hell.
"Petunia, please..." they sobbed.
"If you don't understand what I endured through your death, through your life and through your son's life, then I have nothing to say to you- either of you. You pair of fr..."
Petunia was about to say "freaks", but for some reason, she could not bring herself to say it. Both Lilys looked surprised too. But when Petunia saw the glimmer of hope in their eyes, she angrily stepped away.
But there was still no door. She couldn't get back to her husband.
"How do I leave?" she whispered. Then she sighed sadly. She assumed she had to be magical to make the door reappear. Yet another thing Lily could probably do that she could never do.
"Tuney..." murmured Lily Potter.
"Bring your Headmaster to get me home...NOW!" Petunia screamed at this last word, because she hated to show how useless she was compared to her perfect, wonderful, gifted sister who could turn into two of the same people.
But her sister, both versions stood still and firm.
"Not until you love us again." said Lily Snape, tears still falling from her eyes.
"Never." sobbed Petunia. She then strode off towards the Forest alone.
Petunia felt helpless. She couldn't go back. She was trapped. She was alone in her Heaven turned to Hell. But one thing confused. Why couldn't she out her sister as a freak? She had managed it all her life. Why not now? If she was unwilling to forgive and reconcile with Lily, why couldn't she hurt her, as she had loved to do since she was denied magic and Hogwarts? Petunia was alone and very confused.
Author's end of chapter talk: Chapter 4 sorted at last, had exams, so I've been busy. Not that it should bother many people. So Petunia has seen all the magic of her sister since her death. And her dislike for both then, James and Severus doesn't seem to have improved. She's a stubborn character, is Petunia.
What of Chapter 5? Will Petunia be allowed home? Will she reconcile with her duplicated sister? Will she grow a better friendship with her friends and husbands? And will she find happiness in Heaven, as she isn't having much luck so far? Chapter 6 coming soon. But I'm not sure if this story will come up to any more than 10 chapters. If anyone has any suggestions of how I can develop the plot further, please comment your ideas. :)
