Lily and Lily looked at Petunia. She looked so puzzled and angry.
"We were going to explain what had happened between us and Sev." said Lily Snape, "But I think now we shall have to explain everything."
"I think you'd better." said the stern, cross armed Petunia, with anticipation in her face and voice.
"Well, you see," said Lily Potter, "Me and Sev were the best of friends at Hogwarts. But Sev always felt more than friendship for me."
Petunia looked at Severus in surprise, whom looked down in shame. For he knew the story would entail revealing his part in Lily's death, and he also still felt closed up about his past.
"He loved me." continued Lily Potter, "And he was bullied by James and Sirius, and Remus didn't exactly try to stop them. Anyway, one day in our fifth year at Hogwarts, they humiliated him so much that he snapped under pressure and called me a name so cruel and mean, that it hurt so much so that I ended our friendship."
"I wondered why you were distant after that year." said Petunia thoughtfully. She was going to ask what the name Severus blurted out was, but seeing the grim expressions on all their faces, even Sirius' and James', whom were rather cheerful, she thought better to not bring up the subject any further and waited for her sisters to continue.
"In the final year, I had grown to care for James, whom had fully matured by then, and we fell in love, and you know what happened after that. We married, had Harry and joined Dumbledore in the war against Lord Voldemort, not that he was worthy of such a title. As for Sev...oh, do you mind us telling this?"
Lily Potter had paused and asked this to Severus, whom clearly did mind, but when he was calmed and supported by Lily Snape's sympathetic and loving face, he nodded as a gesture for James' wife to continue but he clutched his own wife tight to him to stay with him as comfort.
"Severus joined Voldemort." said Lily Potter.
"WHAT?!" shrieked Petunia.
"Let me explain more, Tuney!" said Lily Potter hastily, "He joined him partly because he always felt a good deal of the Dark Arts, and partly because he was full of grief that he had lost me to his worst enemy, which we both feel strong remorse for, even now. Anyway, Severus became Voldemort's Death Eater and he became a spy on Dumbledore. But when he was eavesdropping on Albus, Sev overheard that a boy born at the end of July was destined to be the downfall of Voldemort."
Petunia looked shocked. She could already tell what was coming. The boy born at the end of July was obviously Harry and she knew that Harry had ended the evils of Voldemort.
"Sev, being at the time a loyal follower to Voldemort, went to his master and told him what he had heard and Voldemort found out that the prophecy referred to Harry and therefore, me and James. That's what made Voldemort target us."
"And yet you married that fiend?" snapped Petunia in deep disgust, "The fiend who as good as killed you?"
Lily Snape hugged Severus tight whom had tears falling from his eyes in shame of his past crimes.
"Yes." said Lily Snape, "Because as soon as Sev realised that I was in danger, he rushed to Albus and begged him to protect us."
"But our Secret Keeper, Peter, betrayed us to Voldemort and you know what followed. We were killed, but my sacrifice saved Harry." said Lily Potter, "Severus was devastated of course, and under Albus' suggestion, he had since my death sought to be a double agent against Voldemort, loyal to Albus for my memory, to make sure my death was not in vain. Oh, if you could have seen everything Severus had done for Harry's welfare."
