The sunny day was ending and the sun set beneath the trees of the Forest and reflected beautifully across the lake in the grounds. The gentle breeze picked up any fallen leaves into the air and landed in the lake and floated peacefully.
Lilys Potter and Snape were not happy.
They had waited all day for Petunia to return, and nothing had come from their waiting. They didn't want to sit about and do nothing, but it was Albus' suggestion and therefore James and Severus agreed with him.
Sirius was more rebellious and argued with Albus about this, but eventually gave in like everybody else. Albus departed to spend the day with his family and Grindelwald, whom was visiting him for tea. He said to inform him via Floo Network if Petunia returned.
But she hadn't returned and by the time the sun had completely set, both Lilys and their husbands and friends were curious and wanted to know why.
"She was so happy, so eager." said Lily Snape, "Why would she change her mind?"
"She might not have, she wants her husband to support her and knowing him, it'll take time." said Remus supportively.
"Well, it's taking too long." snapped Lily Potter. She inhaled deeply to calm down, "I'm sorry, Remus. It's just that..."
"I know, Lily, I understand." said Remus.
Tonks and Peter then drew attention to themselves.
"Why don't we go and find her?" asked Tonks.
"And make sure that she's alright and if she's coming back." said Peter.
"Sounds like an idea." said Sirius.
"But Albus said-" said Severus.
"Severus, we don't have to do everything Albus says anymore." said James, now agreeing with the others, "This is Heaven. We can all do what we want now."
Severus considered these words and eventually nodded.
"It's been so long since I've gone against Albus Dumbledore's wishes, that I had forgotten that I possess that free will, that I no longer have a purpose to fulfil for him, for Lily, for the greater good."
A tear seemed to form in Severus' eye, as if he had only really comprehended that he was a free spirit now. And a happy one of that.
So it was agreed. The two Lilys agreed that they, James, Severus and Sirius would go to Privet Drive and perhaps find out from Petunia whether or not she was coming back to Heaven Hogwarts with them. Remus, Tonks, Peter and Dobby decided to remain behind, as it was mostly not their personal business. Also, they would make an excuse to Albus should he visit again.
It was now night time in Heaven, which was another surprising thing to still have in the Afterlife. The five of them went to find a door to Privet Drive. Lily Snape, who had with Severus, the best experience at moving through doors to different locations in Heaven, used her mind. "I wish to find a way to Privet Drive."
Then they all saw a door flash by them. They approached it.
"This is the way!" said Lily Snape.
"Are you sure?" asked Lily Potter.
"Positive." affirmed Severus.
"Let's go, then!" said Sirius.
And, the five of them headed off through the door and into the dark streets of Privet Drive. Straight ahead of them twenty metres off was Number 4.
"This is the place!" said Lily Potter.
"God, it looks as awful as it did in life." said Sirius.
