Turns out that Nick or one or some of the guys were in all of my classes. My last class of the day was PE and Nick and Jax were in that class. After getting dressed for class I head out into the gym but stop when I hear the boys talking.

"Are you sure that's the same Lark?" I hear Jax ask. I shouldn't be eavesdropping but I can't help it, I'm a nosy person.

"Yeah that's the same one." Nick says. He sounds sad and something else I can't place.

"Does she not remember anything from before the accident?"

"No. She remembers nothing. None of it." How do they know about the accident?

"She's different. Not in a good way either."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Nick asks angrily.

"I mean nothing by it man. It's just she's changed. She's not her confident self anymore. It's obvious she's living in fear."

"Liz has grown more abusive since the accident."

"Are you serious? Is that what happened to her side?"

"Yeah. Luckily she can get away with saying that its from skateboarding. But Charlie still has no idea and that scares me." I decided to step out of my spot and walk over to them before they say anything else.

I'll ask Nick on the way home. I think to myself.

"Hey guys." I say acting like I hadn't heard anything.

"Hey Shorty." Jax says. Ever since first period he's started to call me 'Shorty' since he's taller than me. Nick smacked him upside the head after his greeting.

"How's the side?" Nick asks while narrowing his eyes suspiciously.

"Hurts, but I'm used to it." I say shrugging. His eyes darken when I say that and I notice Jax nudge him with his elbow.

"Alright everybody! Circle up!" the teacher yells at us. He soon explains to us that we will be playing Capture the Cone which is like Capture the Flag. At my old school I was the master of Capture the Flag so I know I'll rock at this. Both of the boys are on the other team so this will be even more fun.

"Ready to have your butts whooped?" I holler at them. They look at each other then look at me with their eyebrows raised.

"Bring it Shorty!" Jax yells. The buzzer then rings and the games begin. When I play games like this I always feel like its the Hunger Games and everyone knows whoever lasts the longest is the winner so I plan to out last the boys.

I got Jax out within the first five minutes which seemed a little too easy. I hear a whistle and turn to see Nick smirking at me.

"Just you and me now. And you're going down" he says. I smirk at him and walk up to the border.

"Wanna bet pretty boy?"

"Actually I do." he says. I look at him surprised. "If you win, I'm your slave for two weeks and have to do whatever you say. But if I win...you have to tell me what she does to you and you have to come to me whenever something happens."

"Deal!" I shout before I sprint for the cone. I was probably being overly confident since I actually thought I could beat him.

"Get her Nick!" I hear Jax yell just as I slide into the base. Now I just need to get myself back to my side without getting tagged. Nick seemed a little distracted at the moment so I took that as my chance to run for it. BIG mistake. Next thing I know an arm is wrapped around my waist and spinning me around until we both fall to the ground. I landed on my bad side and try to bite back the scream that was forming.

"Lark?" I hear Nick say. I can't respond because I'll scream and I can feel tears pooling in my eyes which are closed tightly. "Lark? Lark look at me. I just want to see your eyes, you don't even have to talk. Just look at me." Nick says pleadingly.

"Is she okay?" I hear Jax ask. I also hear the teacher telling kids to go get changed.

"Sarah! Can you get Larken's stuff for me?" Nick asks.

"Yeah sure. I'll be right back." I hear a girl say.

"Jax go get my stuff and meet me at the truck." he says while picking me up gently.

"Here you go Nick." I hear Sarah say. I finally open my eyes and look over at her. Sarah is really pretty, she looks like a preppy nerd. She looks at me and notices me looking at her. "Hi Larken."

"Hi." I whisper back not trusting my voice.

"I'll see you at Nick's later okay?" I'm really confused so I just nod before Nick walks out of school still carrying me. The trucks not parked to far from the gym so we get there pretty fast and he's able to place me gently into the passenger seat.

"Nick!" I hear a girl call. Nick groans next to me as he places his head on my shoulder obviously already exasperated. The girl bounds over to us and I can already tell that she's the Queen Bee of the school. "Hey Nick." she says a little too happily for my taste. When she finally notices me she scowls at me before turning back to Nick. "Babe who's this?"

"Amanda how many do I have to tell you?" Nick snaps. "I'm not your 'babe' nor will I ever be. And it's none of your concern on who she is."

"How dare you! You have no right to speak to me this way. Daddy's gonna be mad when he hears how you've been talking to me. Me! Your girlfriend!"

"You are not my girlfriend!"

"Get lost Amanda." We all look and see Jax glaring at Amanda. She storms over to Jax and glares up at him like she's challenging him.

"Wait till Mom and Dad hears about this." she says before storming off.

"Amanda is Jax's little sister." Nick says.
