A/N: Welcome back to this little story of mine! Hope you enjoyed so far, here we go again!

~Mikey~
Exactly 5 seconds after I say hello, the call ends. There's a click, and then silence. I call back, no answer. Just when I thought that I was healing, two words me back to where I was before. Hopeful, and not giving up.
~Grace~
I didn't go back to sleep, I just sat awake all night, clutching my arms to my chest.
At about 5am, I quietly grab my stuff and head out to my car. There's no way I'm going to school today, so I decide to take a honorary senior day and ditch. I run home quickly, and drop of my school stuff and fill my backpack with the essentials. Snacks, my camera, and some new clothes. I don't want to risk being home any longer, my parents will know what I'm up to.
I drive for a few miles in silence, until my phone buzzes. I glance down at it, I have a new notification from YouTube. "Mikey Murphy just uploaded a video- LA IS AWESOME! Click to watch!" I feel my throat close up a little, and when my eyes fill with tears again, I pull over at a gas station. I open the video, and Mikey's voice is music to my ears. "Hey guys! As you know, I've been living in LA, or Los Angeles, for a few weeks. And I feel like I haven't talked to you guys in a while, so I decided to tweet out the hashtag #AskMikey and here are some of the questions! Let's go!"
I watch the entire video, but at the very end, I spot something on the floor below his dresser. It's one of Mike's polaroids he takes of his friends, and this one has me in it. I remember that day, we drove all the way into Seattle to eat and visit the coast. I didn't expect the water to be freezing cold in the middle of the summer, but Mikey managed to catch my exact moment of shock and laughter. I gasp when I remember that, as if the cold water was washing over me again. I close my eyes and take a deep breath. Suddenly, a thought comes to mind, one of my happiest memories with him. I rev up the engine again and take off in the opposite direction, hoping I'll make it in time.
A few minutes later, I whip my car into a spot and grab my wallet. I quickly spot my target, the best donut shop in the world, called Sprinkles. I look up at the sky, it'll be light soon. This makes me run even faster. The lights in the store are on thankfully, illuminating the pastel colors and adorable cat in the window. I don't have time to pet him though, I'm on a mission. The girl behind the counter looks only a bit older than me, and extremely tired. "Hi, welcome to Sprinkles. How can I-" She yawns widely and continues her sentence. "Help you?" I smile tightly and order a hot chocolate. "What's your favorite kind?" She looks surprised that I want her opinion.
"It depends on the day, but probably the cream filled ones." I smile and order one of those along with a chocolate one. I watch as she carefully puts them in individual bags, sliding my drink across the counter. I sip it and hand the cream filled one back to her. "Here. I thought you could use a little kindness this early in the morning." I take another sip and she looks at me in awe. I wave as I leave and smile.
I haul butt back to my car, but somehow manage not to spill all over myself. I look at the time, I just might make it. My good karma must've been working already, because my car starts without any problem. I can see the sun peeking out over the horizon, and I drive faster. The entrance to the overlook of the city is just up ahead. I spot the sign and pull in. The sun is now rising, turning the sky colors. I get out of the car and sit on the hood. I sip and chew, just watching the sky turn the most beautiful of colors. The black turns to purple, to blue, with streaks of a bright orange.
I unlock my phone and find the picture I took when I was up here last. Mikey and I forming a heart, and the sunset is in the back. Although we're just a silhouette, you can see his watch and my charm bracelet he got for me. I wonder what he's doing, whether he would remember coming up here with me, remember how many donuts we ate, and how he was so surprised that I wanted to be on his social media, something I try to avoid. The picture is still up there, along with the couple others. But right now, all they are are memories. History, if you will. But when I see them again, I don't think about how he was tickling me before this one, or how he kept pulling out bits of my bun, I think about how much I miss him.
~Mikey~
I'm tired of this back and forth. One day, she wants space. The next, she calls me in the middle of the night. I pick up my phone and call her.
And she answers.

AOTD: Black is my favorite color because it's typically associated with rebellion, which I relate to a lot because fuck stereotypes man.
