"Mikey?" I hear him breathing, and his voice catches. "Grace- I can't keep doing this. I want to get back together." I'm silent, I can tell he's not done talking. He coughs and I hear a voice behind him. "Nothing, Luke. Just talking to Grace." I hear a thump and Mikey trying to protest but Luke must've grabbed the phone and ran away.

"Hey Grace! What's up?" I try my best to sound normal, but it comes out a little harsh. "I'm okay. How're you?" He laughs and I hear a door slam and lock. "Just munching on some corn. You know, the usual."

I can't help but smile a bit, "Naturally. How-" I hear a thumping noise and Mikey yelling. "LUKE OPEN THE DOOR." Luke's tone suddenly turns serious. "I'm worried about Mikey, Grace. He says nothing is wrong, but I'm smarter than he thinks. What's going on between you two?" I manage the word we and then my voice stops working. A sob shakes my chest, and I break down. I smash the end button and tears slide down my face, untouched.

He's not there to wipe them away.

~Mikey~

Luke walks in mid-phone call. "Sup?" I sigh and gesture to the phone."Nothing, Luke. Just talking to Grace." Luke's face lights up and he sprints across my bed and snatches the phone. "Luke stop!" He slides down the stairs and I try and catch him, but he locks himself in the bathroom. "Luke!! Open the door! Seriously man!" I hear him stop laughing, and say something about me. "What the fuck? Did she hang up?" He walks out of the bathroom and hands the phone back to me. I look at him, borderline fuming. But when I see his face, annoyed and disgusted, my look drops.

"Jeez. No one tells me anything. It's not like I helped you guys get together or anything. It's not like we're best friends." I immediately turn apologetic. "Luke you know that I-" He shrugs me off and goes upstairs, me trailing behind. "Whatever Mikey. The least you can do is explain. I think I deserve that."

I sigh and jut my head towards my room. I walk in, and we sit down on my bed cross-legged. He sits there waiting for me to begin. I take a breath and start at the beginning, a day before it happened.

"She was acting weird. I would send her a good morning text, and she would barely respond. She called me that night, when you were out with Alex. When she said those words, I collapsed. I fell asleep, and when I woke up, I realized it wasn't a nightmare. It was real, and I suddenly had to live without her."

At this, Luke pulls me into a hug, and my tears come back. "It'll be okay Mikey. You two can't live without each other, you're meant to be. You just have to keep trying. From what I heard from her on the phone, she's in a lot of pain, too."

I wipe my eyes on my sweatshirt. "She is?" Luke rolls his eyes, "Of course Mikey! Do you really think that your girlfriend of almost a year can break up with you and not be heartbroken?" I look down, and he scoots next to me. "Mikey. You have to get back together with her." I laugh just the tiniest bit. "What do you think I was doing before you came barging in?" His jaw drops.

"That's what I interrupted?!" I laugh at his expression and he starts to giggle. "Well that's better than that time where I walked in on you guys FaceTiming late at night-" "LUKE STOP!" We burst into fits of laughter and I punch him in the arm. He stops laughing for a second. "Well Michael Avery Murphy. I think we're going to have to form a plan to get her back. Well not back on that one FaceTime call but-" "LUKE!"

~Grace~

The next day I decide that I shouldn't skip again, and although I really want to, my teachers might actually murder me.

I get to school a bit early, and I head to C Hall to drop off my textbooks. I swear to god if there's another note I will literally move my locker to the other end of the school. I spin my combination like normal, and sitting there like a python ready to strike, is a note. Neatly folded, same terrible handwriting. I groan and open it up.

Grace, I see that you've gotten my second of many notes to come. I have something for you, if you choose to take it. At 3:00pm exactly, there will be something waiting for you on the last table in the back of the library. A clue of sorts, if you will. See you then. -Nobody

I crumple up the note and toss it in the nearest trash can. Screw this, I think to myself. I'm going to find out exactly who this is. And probably punch them in the face.

The rest of the school day goes by without incident, except for a freshman muttering "Inmate" when she walked by. Whatever, I have bigger (literally and figuratively) things to worry about. I arrive at the library 15 minutes before I'm supposed to. I scope out the area, and find the best spot to find this bastard. I spot a bookshelf perfectly placed to see the table. I slide behind it and watch the clock intensely.

At 2:59, a guy in a dark hoodie comes in, drops a paper bag on the table, and walks out the back door. I sprint out from my hiding spot, grab the bag, and run after the guy. He's not far ahead, but he glances back and sees me running after him. He starts to run too, but towards a crowd of people. I'll lose him in there, I don't even know what he looks like.

I run as hard as I ever have, and I'm slowly getting closer. I grab his backpack and pin him to the ground. His hood falls away from his face, and I'm stunned by what I see. A familiar face, one I haven't seen since I lived in Georgia. He looks up with his bright hazel eyes, still the same color as when we were kids. I almost get lost in them, and force my eyes to look elsewhere, but his model features aren't making that easy either.

His expression is startled, but slightly amused. I suddenly realize that I'm inches away from his face and stand up. I offer a hand, and he grabs it. "Well that wasn't exactly how I thought our reunion would go. More violence." I just stand there like an idiot, staring at him. "Grace? You okay? You look like you're going to puke." And just when I think I am, a word escapes my lips.

"Asher?"

A/N: I feel so bad for you guys. It's cliffhanger after cliffhanger. TBH I was writing this, and it took a completely different direction than I thought it would. But like the last one, sometimes stuff just happened. FUN FACT: Remember when Grace goes inside after leaving the letter for Amy? I almost made her leave her phone in the car and have Mikey see a text from an ex or something. Crazy huh? Stories just happen yo, I'm not big into planning everything by chapter. Just the general picture. Thanks for reading xo

QOTD: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

AOTD: Ability to stop time, I like to sleep a lot and school starts way too early.
