~Two days into fall break. Our summer vacation had ended.~
I'm laying down across my bed and staring up at the ceiling. It's actually not as comfortable as you would think, my blankets are jumbled up and I'm laying on top of them. Completely bored.
I sit up and stare across the room at one of my posters. Right next to my bed, sitting on my nightstand, is my cell phone. I pick it up. It is not destroyed anymore, thankfully. I took it the store and got it fixed, literally right when I got back and recovered enough to move. I turn it on, search for Jennifer's number, and call her. I've been meaning to call her for awhile, but never got the chance. Now that it's fall break, I have all the time that I need.
The tone only rings twice, then Jennifer answers, "Hey! What's up?!"
"Hey! Nothing much. What are you up to?" I continue.
"Just thinking of what we'll all do on our break." She says carelessly.
Surprised, I admit, "Yeah, that's kind of why I called."
"Oh, do you have something in mind?" Jenn asks innocently.
Again, I admit, "No, not really. Do you?"
"Sort of......" She vaguely explained.
I sit straight up on my bed. This is when I shout through the phone, "WHAT?!?!"
Calmly, she volunteers, "Well, I just thought of it very recently. Maybe we all should discuss it over a sleepover or something."
Again, I exclaim, "What a great idea! How about we all meet at my house tonight?"
"Yeah, that sounds great." She confirms.
"Okay, see you then!" I finish.
Then, Jennifer concludes, "Bye."
I hang up and prepare for their arrival. I begin by texting Maggie and Ann
To: Maggie Moo, Awesome Ann.
Hey! Come to my house tonight, sleepover!
See ya!
Charming Chelsea.I grab my keys, jacket and wallet, then jog out to my car. I drive to our local grocery store and pick out some snacks. Skittles, Sour Patch Kids, and Peach Rings. For Ann, I know they are her favorite. Maggie loves them too. After I check out, I head back to my house, to clean my room and await the arrival of my guests.
~Later~
My friends spread out across my room. We spend a few minutes catching up. A moment later, I ask, "Who wants candy?"
Maggie and Ann react instantly, both jumping, and diving towards me. When Maggie jumps up, she shrieks, "CANDY!"
I put my hands up and take a glance at Jennifer, the only normal one out of all of us. Then I address Maggie and Ann, "Okay, okay, what do you want? I have Skittles, Sour Patch Kids, and Peach Rings--"
I barely finish the words, when Ann grabs my candy bag, and searches it before Maggie can get a hold of it. I step back and let Ann protect the candy from Maggie. Eventually she pulls out the bag of peach rings and confiscates it so Maggie can't have any.
I give her a hard stare and let out a strange noise, "Uhhhhhhhh........"
Next, Maggie interjects, "You're going to share those, right?"
Somewhat seriously, Ann replies, "Nope, I'm eating all of these." We all stare at her in blank silence yet again, "I was just kidding. I'm not eating all these, though..... I could."
With a reach towards Ann, Jennifer taunts, "Yes, that's valid." She grabs the candy bag and pulls it from Ann's hands. With a smile, she teases, "Thanks, twin."
