Hi Grandad,

It's been a couple of days since my operation. It went so well. I don't even know what they did or how they did it but all I know is it's working and I haven't died yet. I've been in the greatest mood recently; I finally feel good.

I was sitting on my bed watching tv when Mum interrupted.
"Rosie."
"Mother darling." (I called her that as a joke sometimes.)
"I've decided something Rosie, and I know you're going to like my decision."
"Am I Mum? Am I really?"
"You bet. I'm telling you right now, you go and date Andrew. I demand you to right now!" she said with a smile.
"Mum! I love you so much!"
Then, of course, as if on cue, Andrew walks in, with that million dollar smile.
"I'm going to take you outside." he said.
Since I haven't recovered fully yet, I'm restricted to a wheelchair. Andrew wheels me out of the hospital and out to the fresh air that I miss so much.

"I'm going to ask again, just to be sure, just for it to be official. Will you, Rosie, go out with me?"
"Of course I will go out with you Andrew. No doubt about it."
A massive million dollar smile spreads across Andrew's face and this is where I know I've made the right decision. I'm with the right guy.

Later on in the day, after Andrew left, I was sitting in my bed in my room where it suddenly hit me. A massive smile spread across my face for the millionth time today and it hit me. I'm recovering. I'm happy. It all felt so surreal.

I'd love to know what's going on in your life Grandad. What is it like in Ireland? I'd love to visit one day.
Please reply soon
Rosie xoxo
