Jenna's P.O.V
I was sitting at the desk for only a few minutes when a gorgeous women walks up to me. She has green eyes and long, wavy blonde hair which she is wearing down. She is wearing blue skinny jeans and a green blouse which complements her eyes perfectly. Her black heals click on the floor as she approaches me.
"Jenna Thatcher?"
"Yes?" she takes a seat on the chair opposite me and puts a pile of papers on the desk.
"Hi! I'm Lauren, your Script." She extends her hand and I shake it.
"Hi," I say "am I finally gonna get some answers?" she chuckles.
"Yeah. I'm going to be teaching you about Sky. You obviously have questions, but first, can you sign this for me?" she picks few stapled pages from the top of her pile, puts a pen on top and slides it across the table to me. "It's just a contract to confirm you did actually commit suicide. I'll give you a few minutes to read through it." I nod my head and pick up the pen. I quickly scan through it. It does basically say that I died, but in a lot of detail. A few minutes later, I sign the bottom left hand corner of it and pass it back to Lauren who signs the right hand corner and places it at the bottom of her pile. "Okay, let's get started. First, your questions. Otherwise nothing will make sense."
"Um...where am I?"
"You're in Sky. Sky is the place that the Light sends those who have died by their own hands. The people who think they were done with their life, but weren't. It's like when you try to get into a restaurant, but haven't booked a table, so they can't let you in."
"So everyone who dies by someone else's hands goes... where?"
"Heaven. Everyone who has died by someone else's hands or naturally goes to Heaven because it's where they're meant to be at that time."
"When will I get to go to Heaven?"
"When you've lived out the years you missed on earth. It depends on what the Light's plan for you was. You could stay for a couple of hours, or several decades. You never know, one day, you get called to Checkout, and that's it."
"What happened after ... after I left earth?"
"Oh, this one's tricky. Okay, so you decided to..." she glances at a sheet of paper, "drown yourself. When your soul left your body, it came here. Well, it came to the waiting room you woke up in. Your mind went somewhere else. Do you remember being on a cliff?" I nod "okay, so that was when you saw what was happening when you were half dead and half alive. It gave you a choice to wake up, or come here."
"I got pulled here by someone."
"What?"
"I was running to the projection because I felt bad, but then a hand grabbed my wrist, and I fell down this massive hole thing, then I woke up here." Lauren stares at me for a minute.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah..."
"Ok, Jenna. I'm gonna need to make a quick phone call. Give me just a minute."
"Ok." I ask, confused. Did this not happen to everyone? Lauren walks to the other side of the room and pulls out a mobile. I know this is not what I should be thinking, but I'm really glad they have Wi-Fi here.
A few minutes later, Lauren walks back over. "Ok Jenna, this may sound a bit strange, but can you flick your wrist a minute?" she flicks her wrist to demonstrate and I do the same. I look up at her expectantly.
"Make some random hand movements... like your casting a spell or something." I comply, and start making random motions with my hand. I don't know why she wants me to do it though. She puts the phone to her ear again and speaks into it.
"Nothing's happening, Sean." She nods and makes some 'um' and 'ah' noises into the phone. "Maybe you should come here... table number one twenty... yeah, sure. There's a lot we haven't covered yet... ten minutes?... okay, see you then." She hangs up the phone and she sits back down.
"Uh... what's going on?"
Lauren sighs deeply. "Look, when you're at the Cliff, no one's meant to drag you down. You're meant to choose your own path. Normally instinct kicks in, and from what you've told me, I would say that you should be alive right now." I look at her, confused. "You were running towards the projection. That should have brought to back to life. If you didn't want to see your..." she glances at the paper again," boyfriend, your instincts would have told you to jump off the cliff." It kind of makes sense now.
"Your saying if someone hadn't pulled me down, I would be on earth?"
"That's exactly right."
"What's going to happen now?"
"Well, the person I was on the phone to, Sean, is going to come and get your side of the story. Then we'll go from there." I nod." But before he gets here, I need to tell you one thing... Sean is a very attractive man, Jenna. When you see him, don't get any ideas. He's mine. It didn't end well for the last girl who stole my boyfriend." Her face was twisted into an evil glare, but when she finished talking, she smiles sweetly at me
I'm not sure if I like this girl.
