Gilbert's (Prussia's) POV

Me and Matthew were staring at each other with 3 sausages in our mouths. The sausages were only half way in our mouths and the point was not to smile or else the sausages would fall out. We had finished Lunch with left over sausages (which were now in mine and Matt's mouth).

I wiggled my eyebrows, motioning to the food in his mouth. His lips twitched, but that was it. I huffed and crossed my eyes. Nothing from him. I scooted closer to his face, making my sausages poke his cheek. He backed away. I got closer. He began walking away. I gave chase.

Germany sat on the couch we were running around, shaking his head. "You guys have nothing better to do, do you."

"Well actually-" I stopped when the sausages fell out of my mouth. The dogs made a run for it, Blackie ending up eating all the sausages after a little scuffling with Berlitz.

Matthew's sausages fell out when he saw my mistake and started laughing. Aster, who was waiting patiently, snatched the sausages before Berlitz could get any. Berlitz wined in protest, upset he didn't have any. Aster managed to share a single sausage with the Doberman, rolling it to him. Berlitz wagged his tail and took the sausage to the corner of the living room, enjoying his treat.

"I win," Matthew giggled cheekily.

"That's not fair!" I objected, "West tricked me!"

"You're the one who opened his mouth," Germany sided with Matthew.

I squinted and looked between the two. "Well I win either way because I'm awesome," I bark stubbornly

The Canadian rolled his eyes, leaning on the dark brown couch, "Okay Gil, you win by awesomeness. Happy?"

I nodded curtly. "Satisfied." I glanced at Germany, noticing his boredom. Leaning backwards over the couch, I suggested, "Why don't you invite Italy-chan over?"

He blinked and considered it, "I could..."

I whispered quietly, "We'll leave you two alone." I nudged him with my elbow, still upside down.

"Brother!" He complained, "Does everything have to be about sex?"

"It's a large part of it," I snickered, "If you know what I mean, Luddy"

Germany wasn't taking any of my shit today, so he got up and grabbed a hanging trench coat. I flipped over so that I got on the couch and was on my stomach, "Lud! Where're you going?"

"Italy's," he responded and opened the door. "Walk the dogs." He left, closing the door with a thud.

Me and Matthew exchanged glances. "What'd you say to him?" The blonde asked.

I rubbed my hands together and chuckled, "Kesesese, just words of wisdom." He rolled his eyes. I looked at the dogs. "Well I suppose we'll walk the dogs."

Canada's eyes lit up, "Yeah, I didn't get a chance to see your guy's country yet."

"Aww, but if we go out in town, I'll have to leash 'em," I complained. The dogs can normally walk by my side, but I can't trust them to do that downtown, especially Berlitz.

Canada pouted, a look of disappointment on his face. "Well... we don't have to..."

Something about his expression made me want to tear my heart out. I didn't want such a crestfallen look on his face. "No No! If you really want to see my country, we can!"

His face lit up, "We can?"

I nodded, "We'll go downtown, there're a lot of restaurants and cute little shops. It'll be cold though, so bring your coat."

Suddenly he wrapped his arms around me, embracing me in a hug. Honestly, I was surprised by the gesture. I wasn't the person to hug, well not anymore at least. Not after the whipping. If people hugged me, they could feel my scars that had etched across my back, like a ladder. Then again, this was my boyfriend I was hugging, so my arms found their own way around Matthew.

Matthew and I were chatting happily while we were walking along the sidewalk, the three large dogs by my side. "But I'm seriously considering it! I could get another puppy in the house!"

The Canadian shook his head, laughing, "That would be a wreck! You've already got these three."

I looked at my dogs, proudly walking by my side. They liked walking in town because of the new smells. Aster liked the people, Berlitz, the other dogs, and Blackie, the food. Thankfully, there wasn't a lot of people walking on the sidewalk. "Well I can't replace these three," I agreed, "or add another one."

An accordion was being played on the side of the street, catching the attention of Matthew. "Hey! He's pretty good!" He motioned to the accordion player. I smiled. He was a brown bearded man wearing traditional shorts and suspenders. A matching young man was hopping along with the music, slapping his heels and knees. He approached me spunkily with a fedora in his hand. I pulled out a 10 Deutsche Mark bill and tossed it in his hat. He smiled kindly and went back to his position. Our citizens were traditional as ever.

We ended up sticking around for a few more minutes, listening to the music and watching people walk by. I wondered if the humans knew of our presence. I know that our aura is a little stranger than most and it did make them act differently than talking with a regular person, but that's it. Eventually, we got up and left after a small crowd was starting to gather around the two performers. As I got up, Berlitz suddenly took off running, the leash slipping out of my hand.

"Berlitz!" I called, "You get back here!" I knew he heard me because of the slight ear twitch, but he ignored me, chasing and barking at a grey squirrel. Oh, he was in big trouble now. I handed Canada the two other leashes, "Stay here! I'm gonna get his furry ass back here!" Then I took off running.

He had cornered the squirrel for a moment only for it to jump away and across the street. The reckless Doberman scampered after it. My eye's widened when I saw an approaching car. A screech, a howl, and my shouting. It happened too fast.

I sprinted towards my dog, in front of the car that had just hit him. He wasn't moving.
