Hey guys so this chapter is gonna be all about Nate's past. This is when his mom becomes important. In this chapter, I'm gonna call Nate's mom Anny. Ok so here we go!
Nate's POV
Two years ago
As I woke up, the world was like a focusing camera, blurred at first but more clear over a few seconds. I forced myself out of bed. Downstairs, Anny had breakfast prepared as usual. "So honey do you wanna go to the beach today?" Anny asked as I slowly consumed my meal. " Sure why not." I said in agreement. "Ok , we'll get ready because we're going after breakfast!" Anny said, seeming very excited. I got ready and we headed to the beach. As the sun hit Anny, I noticed how beautiful she was. Is that weird? To think my own mother is beautiful. Her emerald green eyes and her ruby colored hair basically seduced any man she came in view of. "Oh what's this?" I said lifting up a leather stringed necklace with a wooden star-fish charm on it out of the sand. "Oh honey, let me tell you a story about this, actually it's more of a legend..." Anny went on about this time when to mermaids fought and magic was involved. " ...Legend says that if you were this charm, you grow a fish tail when you touch water." Anny finished. "Wow! Can you show me mom?!?" I asked excitedly, completely unaware of what was about to happen. "Ok, just for you darling." She said as she put the necklace on. Anny ran towards the ocean and dove in. She grew a sparkling green tail! "OMG! Mom are you ok?!?" I shouted to her from across the beach. "I'm fine darling!" She shouted back. Then out of nowhere, a mysterious hand grabbed my mother and ripped the necklace of and threw it away. My mothers legs replaced her tail and her need for air returned. She was dragged under and all I could do was stand there, my body didn't want to move , I was froze. My own mother was drowned right in front of my eyes. The thing that killed her had left. All that was left was Anny's limp, dead body . Only after my mothers life was taken would my body let me move. "MMMOOOMMM!!!" I screamed as I ran over to her. I held her dead body in my hands, I dragged her out of the water. I watched as the color drained from her face. All I thought to do was cry. The sun set as I cried. I was all alone now. I mean I had a dad. So after my moms death and her funeral, I packed my things and went to stay with my dad.Sorry for the short and depressing chapter guys, this was actually more of a filler. I'm kinda trying to make this story a bit depressing though.
