The ocean surrounded her. For once Nanette felt free. Free from what? She wondered. It didn't matter. She glided along through the ocean peacefully until she hit a wall of glass. She swam in the other direction, another wall. Nanette turned to find two more walls. A glass box surrounded her. She then discovered that she was trapped in an aquarium, a sushi restaurant aquarium to be exact! Nanette panicked as a giant hand came down and grabbed her by the leg! She screamed and squirmed as she was laid down on a cutting board. Nanette's life flashed before her eyes as the knife lowered. With a loud "THWACK!", everything went black.
Nanette woke up, her bed drenched in sweat and her hands shaking as if she were in an electric chair. She took a few deep breaths and calmed herself down. Another nightmare , she thought. Nanette got a call from Nate this time.
Nanette: Hey what's up?
Nate: Gabe, Terra, and Abby and I are going to a sushi place and we were wondering if you wanted to join us.
Nanette: NO!
Nate: Whoa! Ok calm down. What's up with you?
Nanette: Umm.... He he... I just, don't like sushi, that's all.
Nate:Ok I guess, bye.
Nanette: Bye.
Nanette glanced over at her clock and it read 11:30 am. Nanette dragged herself out of bed and made some toast. Both of her parents were at work so Nanette was home alone today. Nanette poured herself a glass of water. The chilled glass started to sweat and as the water from the outside of the glass made contact with her skin, a rush of coldness rushed up Nanette's spine. Her legs fused together, forming a fish tail. Nanette fell to the floor. Looking down, she gasped. The legend Nate had spoke of was true. In place of her legs, a sparkling purple fish tail. She had watched the TV series, "H2O Just Add Water " and the first thing she thought of doing to make the tail go away was drying the area that was wet, in this case that was her hands. It worked! After gently rubbing the cloth along her skin, her tail was replaced by her legs. She had to tell her friends. Nanette quickly took the necklace off and drank her water. She went up stairs and started a group Skype call. First Terra joined, then Gabe, Abby, and finally Nate.
Nanette: Hey guys! I have big news!
Terra: Well what is it?

Nanette quickly pulled out the charm and put it around her neck. Before touching the water she had left in her glass, she prepared a towel and pointed the camera to the floor so everyone could see.
Gabe: What's going on?
Nanette dipped her finger in the water and fell to the floor. Everyone had a shocked face when they saw a mermaid in front of them.
Abby: OMG!!!
Nanette: I know right!
Nate just sat there with a mortified face.
Nanette: Nate! I think you're frozen on my screen.
Gabe: Yeah me too.
Nate uttered two words before quickly logging off.
Nate: Not again...
With those words, Nate was gone.
Nanette: Let's meet at the beach. Bye.
Gabe,Abby, and Terra: Bye!

( Spoungebob narrator voice)
Two hours later.

"Hey guys!" Nanette cheered seeing her 3 friends. "Hey! Show us how you can swim in the water! Please?!?!" Terra pleaded. Nanette raised the necklace, about to put it on again. Suddenly, a pair of arms forcibly wrapped around her, holding her arms down. She felt tears running down her back and small sniffling that went with it. "Please don't do it." The voice that was hugging her pleaded. She turned to see Nate! "Nate OMG! You came. But how did you?" Nanette was cut off by Nate, "I didn't. I just had a feeling that you'd be here after what happened. Nanette, promise me something!"
"Yeah what." Nanette said. "Promise me that you'll never put that thing on again!"Nate said, tears in his eyes."Why?" Nanette questioned. " Please! I can't loose you too!" Nate pleaded. Nanette saw the pain in his eyes and agreed to the promise with a simple nod."But you owe me an explanation mister." Nanette joked. Nate nodded in agreement. The rest of the day, the five friends just hung out at the beach and had a great time.
