A Kiss

As I watched from the bushes, the young girl pulled into her drive way and walked to the door. "It's almost time." I whispered to myself. You want to meet Anny, so be it.

Nanette's POV
"It's almost time." I heard as I walked to my door. Must all be in my mind. I really do wish I could have met Nate's mom before she died. Such a shame, she seemed like a nice lady. Buzz buzz! Oh I got a text from Nate.
Nate: you wanna head to the beach tomorrow?
Nanette: sure what time?
Nate: around 1:00 or so.
Nanette: ok see you there.
(Time skip to 1:00 the next day)
3rd person POV
"Hey Nate!" Nanette called out to Nate as she ran towards him. "Nanette, I wanna be able to protect you." Nate said in a sort of sad way. "Where did that come from?" Nanette asked confused. "Nanette.... I think I love you." Nate whispered the last part. "Wha-" Nanette was cut off by a kiss. She closed her eyes and enjoyed it. It felt warm. It seemed like the world around the two slipped away. They both let go of each other in unison. "What just happened there?" Nanette asked. "Well, I could say we had a connection don't you think?" Nate questioned raising an eyebrow. "Yeah." Nanette smiled, then looked at her phone for the time. "SHOOT!" Nanette said looking very worried. "What?" Nate questioned. "We are late for Abby's party!" Nanette said panicked. "Crap." Nate said. They ran to Abby's house and got one of Abby's famous lectures about being a good friend. They got slapped and the party continued as normal. There was this one man at the party who just stared at Nanette the whole time.
Nanette's POV
I didn't want to come off as rude but there was this man just staring at me the whole party.
Nate's POV
Keep your hands off of her if you know what's good for you. I know your past. You hide it behind that scar on your eye and your long, black hair. Stay away from the only good thing I have left in my life.
