Jade's POV
I was swimming along side my mother in the ocean. My 7 year old self couldn't help but stop every once and a while to look at my blood red tail. My mother was off to capture the queen and I was going to help her."Mother, how do you plan on catching the queen?" I asked. "Well..." She held up a leather string necklace with a wooden starfish charm."I plan on trapping the queen in this darling." "What will you do with the necklace once she's trapped?" I questioned. "Throw it away." We both started laughing. We infiltrated the castle and mother used a magic spell to trap the queen. She was then dragged away by the guards and I ran after her. My mother was then put in a noose and a ball and chain were tied to her tail. They pulled a lever and the floor below her dropped. Her limp, dead body just hung there as anger quickly formed in me. That day, a great evil was born in my heart. I then took the magic my mother had taught me and turned myself human. I then went to an orphanage and said that my parents were killed by a bear on a camping trip. I was then adopted by a red haired woman. She also had a son. I ran away after 3 years and hid away in the ocean as a mermaid, until the faithful day that the red head lady found and put on the same necklace from the day of my mother's death. I grabbed her tail and ripped the necklace off of her. She turned human again and drowned. I then turned back into a human and threw the necklace back into the water. I've been on the run ever since.
