"So you go to these classes slit then?" I asked trying to make some conversation as I drive Niall to the doctors. He's been in a wheelchair now for 3 years. I have yet to learn about his accident. He has been working up the muscle in them ever since. When it first happened, he had no feeling and he could barley move them at all. Now he has been standing for short periods of time, and lifting weights. He will always have a limp he said, but maybe on day he will walk again. He has a big chance and much confidence that I would be surprised if he couldn't.
"Yup, twice a week, sometimes more." The corners of his lips twitched up, making a small smile play on his lips, as he looked out at the road before us. It looked like a picture, a beautiful one of course. The red, orange, yellow and brown leaves were fallen onto the black street, the freeze around it were mesmerizing.

It was quite for awhile until Niall broke the silence. " I like your car, it's really cool." I giggled, my black jeep was on of my favorite cars... I have a couple. But this is my favorite.
He was looking around in it. I didn't have the hood on it, it was fall in North Dakota, but I loved the cold air blowing through me. So did Niall, I asked if it was okay to have the convertible top down, and he was thrilled of the idea. It was chilly I must admit, but the goosebumps on my skin made me feel alive.

We drove for a bit longer, until we pulled into a small parking lot in front of a long skinny building. This is  where Niall physical trainer works, it's for people like Niall, they come her and try to build up there muscle. I asked Niall if he needed some help getting into his wheelchair that I say in front of him, but he denied my offer, telling me that he's done this kinda stuff plenty of times. He easily worked himself down from the high seat,  using mostly his upper body strength. I watched his muscles flex under his long sleeved black shirt. It fit him nicely, framing his muscled chest and long strong arms. Niall be pulling all the bitches. I giggled at my mockery in my head, but I don't think I was exaggerating, Niall is a handsome boy, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he had girls lining up to get a chance with him.

I opened the door for him, he said thanks and we walked in to the front desk. I looked behind me to see if Niall was going great talk to the front desk lady... But he wasn't there. I looked to my right and he wasn't there either. I then looked to my right watching him wheel towards a door.

"Niall do we have to check in?" The lady answered before him. "No it's okay, I already have him down," She laughed. "Niall's not one for patients." She added on. I smiled and I nodded my head. I walked towards him and walked into the room with him. "See ya later Clair." Niall yelled out the door as we made our way in.

"SAAAMMM, my boy." Niall wheeled himself towards a young doctor. The young man looked up from his computer and a big smile grew on his face. "Niall! What's up? How you feeling." His accent reminded me of Nialls, but I think his was Australian, and Niall's was Irish.

Sam got up and walked to Niall, who was working his way up into the uncomfortable table thing... You know, the ones with the hard white paper? His smile never left his face, and when I realized, neither did mine.

Sam titled his head towards Niall's ear. "Who's the pretty girl?" He pulled back with a goofy grin. Niall's projective laugh boomed through the small room. "That's lux. And no. No, she's not my girlfriend." I giggled watching the boys talk as if I wasn't there. Well.

"Hi, I'm Lux." I chuckled. Sam shook my hand, "Dr. Osborne, but you can call me Sam." He smiled kindly. He had dark short hair that was just a little longer then a bob. He had blue eyes that were dark, and a five a clock shave. He was an attractive guy.

Him and Niall got down to business, Niall laid on the bed, and Sam put leg weights on Niall's legs. Starting with 10 pounds all the way up to 50. Niall and I talked all the way threw. He didn't have much trouble lifting his legs, but you could tell he was working hard doing the leg lifts. Grunts would leave his mouth sometimes, and his read face would even get redder.

Once they were done with that, Niall and Sam practiced walking. Niall's arm was around Sam's neck. He would walk a couple steps and a leg would give up, but Sam held him up and wouldn't give up. He set Niall at one end of the wall with a railing, and Niall had to try walking about 10 feet to reach Sam. I seen how nervous Niall was, but Sam helped him a lot, by smiling and giving him complements on his good he was getting. Niall slowly mad his way to Sam, letting go of the railing a few times, but if one of his legs gave out he would quickly grab the bar.

After a few more exercises, Niall was ready to leave. Once we got the the car Niall either himself in. I got in and sighed, I put his folded up wheel chair in the the back. "Yuh ready?" I asked, smiling. He nodded his head and we were off.

"You wanna stop at McDonalds? When I was younger and I went to the doctors with my aunt, we would always stop and McDonalds afterwards." I stated, remembering my aunt, my one and only mother figure I had. She died two years ago from lung cancer. And it was one of the hardest things I have ever dealt with.

"That actually sounds pretty great. I'm starving." He whined on his seat and held him stomach. I giggled and rolled my eyes.

When we get there and went through the drive through, my stomach dropped. Should I? Maybe I can try... I need to. This will web good for me. I need to. Niall was rambling on what he wanted to the lady taking his order. I was lost in my mind.

"Ma'am? Ma'am?" I broke my daze and looked up at the lady with a sweet smile on her lips. " oh, uhh. Let me um. Can I- uh get a small fri with a McFlury." Oh god. " what kind?" She tapped away in her register. "Oreo please." We finished our order and mad our way up to the second window. My stomach doing flips. I can do this. I can.

We got our food and I drives to a spot near the river, were the cars were parked with trailers parked. The boats and the owners were out on the river. Niall was chewing his fries, and my food was till in my bag. I grabbed a fri. I watched it, I waited. I took a bite and I felt good. I felt nice. It felt nice to actually enjoy something that your not aloud to have. "Mhhh" I mumbled. Niall laughed. " hungry,ah? I scoffed. "You have no idea." I knew he didn't really get what I was talking about.

"So Niall..." I looked over at him munching down the rest of his fries. I didn't know how to continue, how to ask. I guess he saw my expression. He swelled his food and took a sip of his Coke. " you wanna know how this happened?" He gestured towards his legs. I didn't know what to say, so I just nodded my head nervously.

" well one day, me and a couple old friends were out partying, it was late and we were all drunk. I was in the passenger seat of the car and, um. My friend that was driving....Lou, he wasn't watching where he was going and a truck slammed into my side crushing my legs. The truck only slammed into the front of the car, so my three friends in the back where okay. My legs were actually stuck between the door, the seat and the dashboard. I wasn't able to move. My four friends tried helping me. But we were young.... Fourteen and fifteen year olds with My dad's car. When we heard sirens my friends left me.... I don't ember much of it because of the pain, but I remember the blood and me unable to move my legs.

"I watched my fried s run, and each of them turn around for a bit but then keep going... They were my brothers. I just don't know how they all could have left me like that." Niall finished his story with his head hung low. I seen a tear slide done his cheek, but he quickly wiped it away. I had so many more questions to ask, but I didn't dare. Maybe another time.

We sat in silence now, eating the rest of our food.

So I wrote this chapter to give you guys a little more about Niall. I know I don't have any readers, but maybe one day ☺️
