"......I'm incomplete. Aren't I?" I say looking down to my white shoes.

Death chuckles a little bit, "Yes, you are. Do you know why you are?"

I can only shake my head, almost feeling ashamed. I thought I had lived a full life and a complete one at that. But I guess not.

"Ehehe..... You left too many things unfinished. Hense the term 'incomplete'. Do you understand me?"

"Yeah, I guess so." I say as I kick the white ground. "So what do I have to do? You said I have a choice."

"Yes. You do. So what do you choose?"

I turn my back on Death and start to walk away, "I'm good with staying here."

"Hm," he muses. "Interesting. Nobody turns their back on me and turns down my offer of going back to life..."

I look back and see that Death isn't there anymore and then look straight ahead again and see him before me.

"Holy shit!" I yell in shock.

He grabs my neck and holds me up to his eye level, "Now look. I know that you are nineteen and everything, but that gives you no right to just turn your back on me. An insolant pup like you should be taught some manners."

I spit in his face that's hidden within the hood. "W-what are you gonna d-do...?" I choke, "K-kill me...?"

He drops me and I land on my back again, "I can only wish."

I grunt from the fall. I really wish he didn't do that. I mean, I already feel like I almost shattered my back, why make it worse? I can only conclude that Death is an asshole.

"Ugh, get up," he demands, "You didn't fall that hard."

He grabs my arm and yanks me up aggressively and I say, "Take it easy, I still don't exactly feel so well."

"Yes, I know. All of the new-comers don't."

I take a step back from him. I don't feel like getting choked again and then dropped like a common piece of trash and say, "So where's the exit anyway, I'm going to wherever it is that I'm supposed to be going to."

"HA!" he scoffs, "That's funny. You are coming with me, I'm going to sway your mind, you tool."

"Really now?" I half dare, "And how exactly are you gonna be doing that?"

"Hm," he thinks, "Well you are obviously not scared of me anymore. I guess I'll just have to take you on a trip."

"Trip?"

"Yes, a trip. Enough repeating what I say. We will be going on two different trips, so if you will just follow me."

I take a step forward, "Wait, before I go anywhere else, I wanna know, what kind of trips are these? Cause I don't do pot or any of that stuff."

He grunts and tightens a fist like he's about to hit me again so I flinch and he says, "Ugh, you ex-mortals, I swear before my boss! The first trip will be where we go to a time where you don't exist at all. Where you were never born and see how everyone's lives are without you around. You know, to see if their lives are better or worse."

The words better or worse almost make me worry, but I just nod my head in agreement and ask, "And what about the other?"

"The other trip is where we go to life after your death. We'll see who's moarning your death, who's not, who's happy, and who's sad that you're dead."

Somehow, when he said we'll see who's happy that I'm dead made me a little mad. But then I don't care so much.

I sigh, "So are these supposed to be tests or something?"

Death chuckles a little bit, "Some have been known to think of it as a test, yes."

"Ugh, I'm a 'C' student too...."

"Heh, good. You should be able to barely make it."

I ponder a little bit, "Now, you said something about having a boss. Who could possibly tell you what to do?"

"God," he grunts, "If it were up to me, you humans would all be dead thousands of years ago."

"Huh," I say, "I don't know if I exactly believe you, but okay."

He puts his arm around me and guides me forward saying, "Let us just go. We have much to do before you decide your fate."

"Who says that I wanna go through with this, anyway?"

He smacks the back of my head, "I did. Now let's go, boy."

"Okay, okay. Man, I don't understand why you gotta be so violent and abusive towards me."

"That is because you haven't given me much reason to like you. Besides, you humans give me far too much work with all your wars, rape, murder, and suicide. I do not exactly like to see living creatures kill themselves or their own kind. That's why if it were up to me, you humans would have been extinct thousands of years ago, but no, my boss wants you creatures alive."

"But why?"

"God only knows, you little pawn."
