Chapter 44: They Saw It!?

Doctor: Ready to go Shane?

Shane: Does that question even need to be asked?

[Joey's POV]

Shane's bed was pushed down the hospital corridor and into an operation room. His mom had arrived in the hospital a few minutes before. We were told just to stay in Shane's room. I had posted coming out video with Shane, all the comments were really supportive and nice. People liked the thought of me and Shane being gay! Who knew?!

An hour or so passed, I had been talking to Shane's mom for a while.

Teresa: Thank you Joey.

Joey: Uhhh...For what?

Teresa: For coming out with Shane.

Joey: It was going to happen one day!

Teresa: But you...you were the man to make Shane realise who he really was.

Joey: And Shane was the one that made me realise who I really was!

Teresa: You will be with Shane for a very....long time.

Just as I was going to respond to Teresa, a doctor told us we could go see Shane.

Doctor: He's still asleep, but you can see him now.

Teresa and I walked down the corridor and into the surgery room Shane was in. He had been given fresh new bandages and it looked like he was wearing a new pair of patient scrubs. His hair was all scruffy and his facial hair was growing out. He was lying flat on his back, probably because if he rolled onto his side or stomach it would cause pain to his chest.

Teresa sat next to him, I stood up beside his bed just staring down at him.

Teresa: He was in your position a few days ago.

Joey: I could only imagine how he felt...I feel crappy right now even though I know he will now be fine...but he had no idea whether I was going to pull through.

Teresa: Did he ever tell you about his dream?

Joey: What dream?

Teresa: The one he had when you were in hospital?

Joey: He hasn't said anything to me!

Teresa: He really hasn't told you?!

Joey: No, what is it? What was his dream?!

Teresa: He had a terrible dream when you were trying to pull through!

Joey: Tell me! What happened?

Teresa: He dreamt about when you were here, your machine started making one long no-stopping beep. Doctors and nurses rushed into the room to see what was wrong. Shane, Luke and Nicole where in the room at the time and had to be escorted out...the doctors tried, using defibrillators to attempt to save you. You died in his dream.

Joey: Seriously?

Teresa: That's what he told me.

Joey: Why didn't he tell me this?

Teresa: He most likely didn't want to panic you in a way.

Joey: I...

Teresa: He told me he woke up in hysterics. Luke had to comfort him and help him fall back asleep. That was the lowest moment in his life, and the dream wasn't even real.

Joey: He really dreamt that?

New Message From: Nicole Graceffa.

Nicole: I'm so proud of you Joey, so is the entire family! They all saw your new video with Shane. They want the both of you to come out to Boston and visit. Speak to you later lil' bro!

Joey: THEY SAW IT?! Shooooot! And they were ok? Why are they taking it so easy, especially dad! Shane's actually just recovering from surgery right now!

Nicole: How did he get the blade put into himself exactly?

Joey: He was going to open fan mail so he was carrying the blade in his hand and stumped his foot off the table making him fall and the blade to go into his chest. He was very lucky I came home when I did...otherwise he'd be in serious danger!

Nicole: When he's back to his normal self, tell him I said get better soon! Are you agreeing to coming and visiting us all?

Joey: If Shane wants to then we'll go...but not right away...too much has happened!

Nicole: A little birdy told me you fought with Sawyer again!

Joey: That little birdy isn't lying...

Nicole: JOEY! Why are you trying to get hurt!

Joey: I wasn't! I just wanted to hurt him aha!

Nicole: You're evil Jo-jo!

Joey: ;)

Joey: Teresa, you wouldn't mind if Shane and I went on a little trip when he recovers?

Teresa: It's not up to me! Where will you two be going?

Joey: Boston...to meet my family...

Another short chapter! I'm writing another now for tonight! Don't want to make the Authors Note too long so I'll write a longer one in the next chapter!
