Last Chapter: The End of All Things

Luke: Joey?

Joey: I'm not. I'm not ready.

Luke: Joey, Shane is going to be out there in one hour, waiting for you to go down that aisle!

Joey: I know!

Luke: Why aren't you ready?

Joey: Is it too early?

Luke: What do you mean?

Joey: We haven't ever been together for a year.

Luke: You love him right?

Joey: Of course I do!

Luke: You agreed to marry him, when he proposed to you.

Joey: But-

Luke: If you really weren't ready, you would have said no then. I was there Joey, you were genuinely happy.

Joey: You're right.

Luke: I know I am. So are you okay?

Joey: Yeah, yeah I'm good. Just needed a reality check from the best man. Thanks Luke.

Luke: Oh thank God! I didn't know what else to say to talk you out of it.

Why was I getting these "second thoughts"? It's scaring me. Why am I doubting that I want to marry Shane. I need to stop. I'm marrying Shane today no matter what.

--

I got into my blue fitted suit, same as Shane's. Luke helped me with the bow tie. I straightened myself out, adjusting how the suit sat.

Luke: You've only got over 40 minutes to do your hair! Joey! You're going to be late because of your hair! AHH!

Joey: I'll take 5 minutes doing my hair...

"Nothing I can help with here then." Luke finished, being cut off by Nicole entering the room.

Nicole was wearing a red, beautiful dress that somehow matched me and Shane's blue suits. She had gotten her hair and makeup down by Ingrid, as far as I know.

Nicole: Shane just arrived and is in the other dressing room getting finished up.

Joey: Finished up?

Nicole: More like calming down and wiping the sweat from his forehead.

Joey: He's nervous...isn't he?

Nicole: Yeah.

Joey: That makes the two of us. The both of us.

Nicole: You should talk to him before you go out there.

Joey: Can I?

Shane: You can. 'Cause I really need my Joey. I need you.

Shane came into the room, looking his absolute best. He had literally took my breath away as he walked inside. His hair swooping to the side with a quick flick of his head. He smiled once he saw me on the other side of the room. "So what have you done to my boy?" He grinned. He slid his hands into his pants pockets, his blazer falling over them. The thought of backing out of this left my mind.

"We have done... nothing." Luke charmed. "He got himself ready, well except the tie. I helped with doing the bow tie."

Shane: Great.

I stopped fixing up my hair to pay full attention to Shane. He looked gorgeously handsome in his wedding suit.

"Could you guys, uhh, give us a minute alone?" Shane glared at Nicole and Luke who had ended up standing next to each other. "Sure!" Luke said dragging Nicole out the door.
