{made it to chapter 10!}

Baylee

By the time my dad got back home, I was already playing all the chords on my own. Even making up a little combination of my own.

"Jake inside." turning towards Ross and I, we were still in the same position as earlier. "Ross, you staying for dinner? We're having chicken and gravy over a biscuit."

I hoped he would stay for dinner, my dad has taken a strong liking towards Ross. We all have.

Ross let out a deep chuckle before looking down. "Sorry Mr. Reynolds but I promised my mom I'd eat dinner at home tonight."

"Oh what a shame. Well I'll see you around." he ushered Jake in front of him, closing the door behind them.

"So," I placed the guitar onto the grass before rolling off of Ross's lap, looking up at the darkening sky. "You've gotta get home."

Movement is heard, before he lays down next to me. Placing an arm underneath his head for support. "And you've got to eat."

"Yeah. I had a lot of fun today Ross. Thank you, for teaching me."

"No problem." standing to his feet, he reached down helping me to my feet. "Oh and Baylee?"

"Yeah?"

"2 o'clock sharp, my house. Theme is vintage. So wear a vintage dress."

Laughing I replied, "what's this for?"

If this was his way of asking me out, he needs to do better and try harder.

"You've been invited to a tea party."

Straighting out the pink bow placed in my hair to keep my bangs back, I nervously rang the doorbell.

Stepping back, I couldn't help but fiddle with my dress. I don't know any of these girls (besides the host), hell, I've never been to a tea party like this! The only ones I've ever been to are the ones I would put on when I was younger with all my stuffed animals. Nothing was even real, and I wore a boa. Not really what I would consider a tea party.

I fixed my bow yet again, Jake picked it out. He told me that it was pretty and I should wear it to make me more pretty. Apparently my dress, that I strangely found in the back of my closet, wasn't good enough for him.

The door swung open revealing a brunette wearing a white long sleeved, lace dress coming to about mid thigh. Jewels rested over her stomach and her hair was styled into a Dutch braid crown. Light makeup covered her face.

"You must be Baylee!" the brunette exclaimed, opening the door a little wider for me to come in. "I'm Lori, I've heard a lot about you."

Wish I could say the same.

I nodded, following her into the house. She lead me into the dining room, which was decorated with vintage themed, everything. Food and tea cups lined the table, with about 10 empty seats. How many people did she invite?

"I love your dress, by the way." Lori complimented. "It's so pretty."

I looked down, taking in my dress. It was a longer dress, cut off stylish a little in the front. Laced sleeves, with ruffled layers at the bottom. Resting on my feet were a pair of white, laced ballet flats.

"Thank you. I love yours."

She smiled in response. I let my eyes wander. I couldn't help the nervousness I felt, I don't know any of these girls, this is like foreign territory for me.

As if she could sense my nervous aura, Lori squeezed my arm. "Don't worry. You'll love it."

I sure hope so.

Rydel entered the dining room, followed by two other girls: one brunette and one blond.

"You made it!" Rydel squealed, carefully wrapping her arms around me. I couldn't help but hug her back.

"Of course I made it!" I couldn't help but fawn over her dress. It was beautiful. It was a lacy, nude tea stained dress. Pinkish to make it simpler. Absolutely 10 times better than my own.

"Baylee, I'd like to introduce you to Savannah (but we call her Sav)," she gestured towards the brunette, letting us exchange hellos. "And this is Alexa." she motioned towards the blonde. We waved at each other before Rydel excitedly clapped her hands. "Let's get this tea party started!"

Many cups of tea, some scones, and billions of pictures later; the 5 of crashed on the couch, giggling away about random, pointless things.

Somehow, Rydel managed to get everyone out of the house for her party. If I even requested my dad to do that I'd get some snarky response as to why he can't leave a bunch of teenage girls alone in his house. That's why I've never had a slumber party, my dad was always against it. My mom never enjoyed them, so she really didn't see the point of me even going to one, yet alone hosting one.

Rydel makes it seem like she has one all the time.

"So Baylee," Alexa captured my attention. "Did you have fun?"

I nodded. "It's been a long time since I hung out with the girls, you know? It's always been me, my dad, and Jake."

They nodded and muttered words of agreement.

"Yeah we're pretty cool right?" Sav joked, flinging her curls over her shoulder, earning giggles from each one of us.

"The cooliest." I joked causing Lori to gasp.

"Drake and Josh?" I nodded, biting my lips to stop from smiling. She stood up off the couch, opening her arms out wide. "Hug me brotha!"

I couldn't resist getting off the couch and hugging her, listening to the sound of a recording and giggles taking place. That was until we heard the door open.

Us girls looked towards the door to find the boys back from wherever it is they went. Rocky raised an eyebrow. "What did we miss?"

"Nothing." Lori and I screeched in unison, instantly pulling apart. This caused Rydel, Alexa, and Sav to laugh even more.

"Check my insta, Rocky." another giggle escaped his sister's mouth. "You'll see."

Instantly, the 4 Lynch brother began pulling out their iPhones, making my flip phone look like a pile of shit.

"No." I whined, as Ross advanced towards me. "Don't look at it."

His lips quirked into a smirk. "And why shouldn't I?"

I quickly racked around in my brain for an answer. "Because I'm your friend." I tried, shrugging my shoulders.

A laugh erupted from Ross's throat. "You're going to need a better reasoning, love."

My face flamed from his new nickname, but laughter was overheard. "Ross, you gotta watch it!" Ryland exclaimed from across the room.

"Yeah man," Riker began wiping his eyes with his thumb. "A girl who likes Drake and Josh, she's a keeper."

A/n: if you are familiar with Drake and Josh then I love you!

This one isn't as long but I really don't know how a tea party goes so... I tried.

I have so much planned out for this story, I'm so excited!
