Baylee

November 6th, 2013

Two days ago, we went zip lining. It was one of the greatest experiences I've ever experienced! Although, the walk up there was a little tough on me. I honestly didn't think there'd be that many stairs to climb. My dad wanted me to just quit, not even bothering trying to climb it once we were about half way there, but I believed in myself and pushed it all the way to the top. Once I got up there, I had this sudden fear of heights and wanted to quit. Thank god Ross was up there with me. He told me how much fun it was and that I had nothing to be afraid of, and boy was he right. I loved it, if the walk wasn't so terrible I would've gone again. They really need to make escalators or elevators or something to make it easier.

Sincerely,

Baylee Reynolds

I shut my diary, placing it back on my desk. Stretching out my arms, I left my bedroom in search of lunch.

I entered the kitchen, instantly noticing a nutella sandwich on the counter. A little note was attached to it:

Baylee,

Here is your lunch for today. Don't forget to drink lots of fluids and take your pills. If you go anywhere please tell me and call me if anything happens. Jake has practice after school that he'll catch a ride with one of his new friends. I have a later shift so I'll see you later tonight. Love ya Bayls.

Dad.

I smiled crinkling the note up tossing it to the side. I grabbed the nutella sandwich, taking a large bite. I moaned at the taste.

Everyone's at school and my dad's at work. Nobody really has time to give me my education anymore, so I normally just stick to reading. My copy of The Scorch Trials rested on the couch, left there by my reading the previous night.

I sat down, opening up to my saved spot and began reading. I dove into the world of Thomas and the gang.

My mind drifted to Ross. His blonde hair and hazel eyes. His voice, his laugh, pretty much everything about him. He's addicting, like my mind just can't get enough of him. He's always there and I don't know why sometimes he's all I think about. He can't get attached, I can't break his heart.

At about 3:30 a knock was heard off my door. I sluggishly made my way to it, making the point that whoever was on the other side could wait.

I swung the door open, revealing Ross with a helmet covering his blond locks and a skateboard tucked under his arm.

I raised my eyebrow. "What are you doing here?"

"Well hello to you too."

"That's not what I meant."

"I know." he smiled a full toothed smile. "Anyways, I was wondering if you would like to come to the skate park with me? A couple of my friends from school will be there and they really want to meet you."

He's talked about me to his friends? "Ross, I'd love to but I haven't skateboarded since I was like 10."

He smirked. "That won't be a problem. So are you coming?"

I shrugged nodding. "Sure why not. I just have to tell my dad and get my things."

He nodded stepping inside, closing the door behind him. "Take your time."

As fast as I could, I turned the TV off. I went to my room gathering a jacket, my phone, and some sneakers. Slipping them on I headed back to Ross who was waiting with a smile.
