Dear Readers,

This is the first of the few chapters of the Alternate Ending I'm writing for this story. If you've ever wondered what would have happened if Kat didn't survive, then this is your chance to read how I think it could have ended. It's pretty short, but most of them are going to be like this. It's not going to be a long add-on.

I hope you like it!

Kat's POV

Kat stood at the end of  the river Styx. She watched as the other spirits moved around her slowly, like the life had been sucked out of them.

In a way, it had.

She watched as a little girl floated by, a ghostly teddy bear clutched in her small hand. Kat wondered  if the other spirits were as concious of their surroundings as she was, but she wasn't sure. She turned in a circle and in seconds spotted someone staring at her.

Rhea wasn't looking at Kat with a vicious glint in her eye, like she had the last time Kat had seen her. Instead, they held a sorrow that had never been there before.

Kat turned away, not being able to watch her former friend look so... depressed.

Following the long trail of spirits to the gates of the Underworld, she stood in line of the "to judgement" line and hoped for the best.

Liam's POV

Taking his forehead away from Kat's body, he absentmindedly stroked her tangled brown hair. He kept repeating one sentence over and over again in his mind. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry

He heard someone come closer.

A hand grasped is shoulder. "I'm really sorry, man," Noah said softly. Liam appreciated the support... until Noah kept talking. "I mean, even though we all know it was never going to work out, it's still a bit depressing to see you this sad."

Liam's head jerked to look at Noah. "Excuse me?" he said hoarsely, his throat still scratchy from salty tears.

Noah shrugged. "She was a Hunter. You were a Camper. It was never going to happen. Although, it was a nice thought."

"She just died and you're here telling me that a relationship would never have worked out?" Liam said, his voice rising in volume with every word. "Who do you think you are? That you can say things like that to me? I liked her. A lot, and you think you can just say those things to me?!"

Noah took a step back. "Dude, calm down. I was just stating the obvious. Besides, it's not like I'm stopping anything from happening. She's dead as a--"

"If you say doorknob, I swear, I will slit your throat," Liam said softly, but harshly.

Shaking his head, Noah started to walk out of the room. "Sorry, man. I'm just saying, you shouldn't be all that upset. This quest was, like, three weeks long. Barely anything. Nothing would have happened."

"Now we'll never know," whispered Liam.
