Kat's POV

No, I didn't die... again. I simply transported to a different place. Okay, that sounded a little funny. I don't know how, but as I slept, some kind of force pulled me away from the bus and into a damp, dripping cave. I was awake now, and struggled to sit up. My stab wound was mostly healed now, and I could walk, although it hurt. Stumbling around and clutching my stomach, I looked at my surroundings.

The cave was dark an ominous, although that's probably how every cave has been described to you. I'll go for something else. The cave was devoid of light and an evil air hung about it. Is that better? Good, because I'm not explaining any more.

I heard a scream from farther into the cave. It seemed like it wasn't a cave at all, but in fact a tunnel system. I didn't want to find out what made it... other than the possible underground rivers and such.

"Hello?" I called out.

The scream seemed to get closer. Soon, I saw a light, and a shadow... and a giant barrelling after the girl running away. I got the idea and started sprinting for the exit. The girl screamed again and somehow caught up to me extremely fast.

"You better pour on the speed!" she yelled at me before sprinting even faster.

Looking back over my shoulder, I screamed and ducked. The giant was right on my tail and had tried to swipe at me. I took the girl's advice and started running even faster.

The opening of the cave was near, and I was hopeful... that is, until I saw the girl slam into the light and disappear.

"What the?" But I didn't have time to question. The giant was right next to me, grinning a horrible grin of mossy (literally) green teeth. Gagging, I did the same as the girl and ran into the light, now appearing somewhere else.

Liam's POV

Kat had been gone for hours now, and I still hadn't told anyone about the shimmer in the air. What I'd found was too precious to share. I can't even tell you, but let me say it was a peek into the past. Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge.

Anyway, we were landing in Camp Half-Blood, and as soon as we all got off, Apollo left in a flash of light. "Ow," I said. The light from the sun car is very bright I found.

As soon as The Ethiopian Pegasus opened its wings and whinnied, campers swarmed us.

"It's beautiful!" cried a girl, reaching out to pet it. And she wasn't the only one to want to touch the pegasus. The pegasus was getting mobbed, and it didn't like it. Neighing, it bucked and whinnied. The Hunters shooed away the campers and led the pegasus to the stables.

Now, as the main attraction left, the campers dispersed to do their thing.

I felt two arms slide up my back and cover my eyes. "Guess who?" said a female voice.

Internally wincing, I turned around and plastered a fake smile on my face. "Hey, Lianne! How are you?"

Lianne smiled at me, her brown hair gleaming in the sunlight. "Better than it was before... I heard some girls died."

I paled. "Uh, yeah. They... they did."

Lianne gasped. "Oh, Liam. I'm so sorry. You weren't close to any of them, were you?"

"Well..."

Lianne gave Liam a hug. "I'm sorry, bro. Who was it? Emma? She was nice."

I laughed. "No. Emma went to the dark side, along with Rhea Orthys," I said bitterly. I still hadn't gotten over how she had killed Kat. It made sense though, my anger. You would be just a little upset if the girl you had a huge crush on got killed right in front of you.
