We Are A Family

Chapter 02

It was a whole new day, a day where I would go visit my sister for the day and hang out with her and Mark; I needed a break from CC and the others and going over there would be exactly what I needed. Shay told me she'd just stay, so if Ashley returned from the bar; she'd be there to wait for him.
I shrugged on my coat then shoes, looking to Shay; I waved then headed out.

The snow was falling and it was still November, we had exactly three weeks until it was Thanksgiving and no one knew where they wanted to have the dinner at; CC suggested our house and then Mark suggested his. I sighed climbing into the drivers seat, backing up then driving off; traffic was slow and the drivers were even slower. I leaned against the car window sitting at the red light, even though I was married to CC and living in a nice house; one I always dreamed of living in.. Something felt off, like we were missing something..
Oh yeah, children..

I drove into the driveway of Kayla's and Mark's home, the two were on the porch talking when they looked over here; killing the car, I stepped out with a soft smile when Kayla jumped up then ran over to me with her arms opened; Kayla and Mark have been married for nearly as long as me and CC have, it was kind of ironic how Mark proposed to her the same day CC proposed to me.
They didn't have a big wedding like I did though, theirs was private and small; a lot of people still managed to show up.
We hugged for a solid minute before letting go, Kayla's hair was back to her shoulders and mine was officially to my waist; she smiled looking at me.
"I wasn't expecting you to come over?" She said.
I shrugged with a smile. "Can't check up on my sister an brother n law every once in a while unexpectedly?" I asked.
Mark rose a brow before joining us. "Where's CC at?" He asked.
I looked to him. "Somewhere with the guys, I wanted to get a break from him anyway." I murmured.
Kayla tilted her head frowning. "Are you guys fighting?" She asked.
I shook my head frowning. "No, its not that; we just had a talk last night and I'm still hung up on it.." I said looking off.
Kayla and Mark exchanged looks before Mark smiled softly.
"I'm going to leave you two alone while you talk about this, I'm going to go make a call for take out. Chinese sound good to you?" He asked Kayla who grinned before nodding.
"Yes, please." She looked to me before walking to the porch, I followed with my hands in my pockets.

"You're pregnant?" I asked with wide eyes holding my glass of tea.
Kayla looked at me with a nod, she took a sip of hers before placing the glass back down.
I looked at her both thrilled and confused. "How long have you been pregnant?" I asked.
She gave off a soft smile. "I just found out yesterday, I was scared at first to tell Mark but when I did; he got excited about it.. I was going to call you but we went out to eat and celebrated yesterday.. and then you showed up today and I thought that this was going to be a now or never sort of thing.." She said.
I grinned looking at her. "That's awesome Kayla! Congrats." I said smiling.
Kayla grinned when Mark returned.
"Haley, do you like Chinese?" He asked me taking a seat next to his wife, I gave off an apologetic look before shaking my head. "Not as much as your wife does," I looked at Mark who looked to Kayla who was grinning.
I knew she loved being called his wife.
I looked to my phone ringing, it was CC; this was supposed to be my day I spent with just Kayla and perhaps Mark.. I looked at them before answering.
"Hello?" I questioned.
{"Hey babe, Shay said you were at Kayla's?"} CC said on the other end.
I sighed. "Yeah.. I wanted to spend some time with my sister today, I'll be home later."
{"Are you okay..?"} He asked.
I frowned. "Yes, baby; I'm fine." I said with reassurance.
{"Okay.. I'll see you later then?"} He asked me.
I looked down but nodded into the phone. "Of course, I love you." I said.
{"I love you too."} The phone went dead.

The three of us decided to go to the mall, I found it kind of fun being around the two; we were acting like children most of the time while we hung out.
We took pictures in the photo booth then stayed hours in Hot Topic, I had my moments where I wanted to call home just to make sure Shay and the guys were okay; I looked to the shirts on the wall smiling softly.
I didn't realize I was crying until Kayla informed me I was, we made it into the bathroom where Mark waited for us in the hall.
I was wiping my eyes while Kayla leaned against the wall frowning, her arms crossed against her chest.
"Is everything okay over there? Do you need to come stay with us for a few days? There is a guest bedroom for a reason Haley." Kayla said frowning.
I shook my head looking at her. "N-no, I appreciate the offer; me and CC had our talk about kids last night and the way he makes it seem.. he wants the kid to go on tours with me and him and believing the guys would be okay with it.. I don't want to have a kid knowing CC is going to want the kid on a bus growing up.." I said as tears began to fall.
Kayla moved away from the wall then brought me into a hug frowning.
"Tell him you want the kid to grow up in a house then?" She said.
I frowned moving away from her. "I don't want him to get upset, he has concerts and tours to go on.. he'll want to be apart of our kids life if we have any.." I said
Kayla ran a hand through her hair frowning.
"Well.. gee.. this is complicated, its not like you can tell him to leave the band or anything." She muttered.
I glared softly. "I would never ask or tell him to leave the band,he'll just have to make time for the kid and me I guess.." I said frowning.
Kayla looked at me with a nod. "Ready to head back to your house then?" She asked.
I gave a nod looking at her.

Kayla and Mark ended up staying for a few hours at my house with the guys before they took their leave, she even announced she was pregnant and everyone was happy for her.
I was in CC's lap watching -Titanic- with popcorn and tea an hour after my sister and her husband left, I leaned into CC's hold frowning softly. "I want one.." I whispered.
CC's hold on me tightened gently before his hand moved to run a hand through his hair.
"Why all of a sudden? Because Kayla is going to have one?" He asked.
I shook my head. "No, because for the longest I've been terrified to have one.. I was scared I wouldn't be grown up enough to raise one.. but now, I suddenly do.. In ten month's I will be twenty.. I just want to try.. and knowing you will be his or her father makes me want one even more now.. can we, please?" I questioned frowning.
CC swallowed before exhaling slowly, he stood up with me in his hold and we walked into the bedroom.
He put me on the bed then turned off the lights, I smiled softly.
This was the beginning of a family, no.. our family.
