As Sunday approached, Louis began to feel more and more confident for his date. After having Friday run as smooth as could be, Louis began to feel that maybe this relationship could work out, and the fact that Harry already had kids made things easier because he knows Zayn won't be a problem.
The blue eyed man changes Zayn into a pair of joggers and a t-shirt before going downstairs to get the last minute food items he had decided to bring- sandwiches, some crisps, and an abundant amount of juice boxes. Once Louis was set on the things he brought, he situated Zayn into his little stroller with the picnic basket underneath before he began to make his walk down to the park Harry told him to meet him at.
It takes about fifteen minutes to get there and just as Louis is laying out the blanket he had brought, he hears the familiar voice of Liam shouting to his dad that he's late before seeing the boy run straight past him. Zayn seemed to notice as well and it came as a surprise to Louis when the little boy raised his hand to point at Liam with a questioning look.
"That was Liam, baby. Remember he babysat you a couple days ago," Louis cooed as he settled himself down on the blanket. Zayn continued to stare at the direction Liam ran towards for a few minutes before finally Harry approached the two with Niall in tote.
"Hello, Louis, how are you doing?" Harry asks as he sits himself down next to the man and places a small kiss to his cheek which successfully makes Louis blush.
"All is good, what was Liam late for?"
"Footie game, it was kinda perfect when you suggested the park because I was gonna have to be here either way. Mind if we move the blanket closer to the field, though?"
"Not a problem at all," Louis assures as he lifts Zayn and the blanket up before making his way closer over to the field, only stopping when Niall says they're close enough.
The blonde boy eventually ran off so another area of the park where he spotted a few friends, leaving Harry and Louis alone with Zayn who was happily laying on the blanket while looking at the clouds float by.
"Nice weather, yeah?" Harry asks awkwardly and Louis can't help but laugh.
"You're so awkward it amazes me," Louis laughs while nudging the man.
"Believe me I know, so, um, what have you been up to since Friday?"
"Nothing too much, Zayn had a doctor's appointment yesterday and that took up most of the day, so I haven't done much. What about you? With those two you must always be busy."
"Oh yeah, always busy. Liam only came out of his room to grab dinner or lunch, and Niall was at his friend Josh's house all day. My day was spent watching netflix."As Louis and Harry continue to talk, Zayn attempts to get his father's attention, however, for some reason he couldn't bring his lips to move and say his name. The boy continued to stare at his father for about five minutes before he chose to just get up and do what he wanted himself.
Being distracted by puppy love and proper conversation, Louis didn't seem to notice the small boy crawling off the blanket or even standing up and walking straight onto the football field. Apparently the little one was fascinated by the patterned boy, and it just so happened to stop right at the foot of him which is why he picked it up. Happy with the new object, Zayn attempts to walk off the field only for the referee to laugh half heartedly and step in front of the toddler.
"Hi, buddy, can you put the ball back, please? You can play with it later but we need it right now," he asks Zayn who just looks at the man with wide eyes before looking away.
Seeing as though the boy didn't appear to want to answer, the ref made an attempt to just grab the ball from him which only started the real drama.
