I layed back looking at the ceiling, she was sitting up. I heard her clear her throat so I turned slightly annoyed. She was wrapped in sheets standing at the edge of the bed. The moment she got my attention she bowed and chirped in her too high voice, "Th-thank you Joshua san!" I smiled politely and said "You're welcome". Or so it felt as if I had said it in english but we have been speaking in japanese the whole time. She blushed deep red and excused herself to the bathroom. I sat, now bothered by the fact that she actually thanked me for sex?
That was just... I decided not to pry on such dumb matters. I got my clothes from the chair at the right far end of the love hotel's room. Maybe I should leave. Don't feel like staying.. But I couldn't be so rude. Not my style. Once she got out I took a shower. Cold water flowed down my shoulders. I felt like taking off that feeling, I felt as if I had sold myself just to protest. But my protest didn't feel efective. She asked if she could have sex I said yes as my way of putting up a fit yet now I see how stupid this was. I got out and stared at my reflection. At least one of us enjoyed it. She had left a scratch mark on my shoulder. I touched it, it hurt like a damn papercut. After making time in the bathroom not wanting to see her I dried my hair and even played with it a bit, made faces in the mirror and made a starring contest with myself. Bored I finally stepped out.
She was sitting up strait at the edge of the bed expecting, what? I have no idea. I smiled polite as ever and slipped in my boxers and then my jeans. I didn't bother to cover up. She did see everything. There was no point in hiding besides, if she didn't want to see she had a neck, she could turn away anytime. Just before I got to the bone botton she started to speak. "Ermm.. I.... I wanted to s-say something." I lifted my brow as I looked her in the eye, she flushed as to be expected. "Did I do something?" I asked slighty amused. She shook her head and her bangs shivered as her long black hair swayed. "I love you.. A lot... that is why.." I knew it.. another flower. I strolled to her and got to my knee so we would be at the same height. "I understand what you are saying but I can't love. I am not the perfect prince you dream of. I am no better than a monster. You are a beautiful woman in ever way. And I may look beautiful but I could never deserve you. Do you understand?" She looked confused and protested, "But how can you say that? I'm not like you said I am..." She turned down and with my index finger I turned her to see me. "It would not be worthy of me to take you away from someone who can love you. See me as I am. Someone you practiced how to kiss and make a man feel pleasure. See me as a practice dummy for the man out there that will make you the most happy woman. Won't you make my pain be less by doing that for me?" She stared deeply in my actor eyes. Seeing no aparent lie she smiled and nodded. I smiled back and gave her a kiss on her hair and wispered "Thank you.."
We both walked out. I could tell I had made her feel better about herself. She actually beleived it? If she had "loved" me like she said she wouldn't have fallen for shit and would have stayed. But like I cared, I felt nothing for her. I fixed my tan leather jacket over my white turtleneck sweater that matched with my faded jeans and tan ancle boots. I crossed the busy late afternoon sreet. As I walked through the side walk to where I had parked my car I saw people going around something, not sure what so I walked faster. A boy went flying in my direction sending me to the ground. I was not on gaurd. "Hey! You okay?" And from an expressionless face all turned to a surprised stare.
The boy who fell on me wasn't a boy but someone around my age, pale as a sheet and black short layered hair. Obviously emo, but certainly breathtaking. Not so small eyes, cute slightly angular nose, soft jawline and a peircing on the right end of his lower lip. It was a very small delicate black U shapped. He stared at me and I saw his deep gray eyes scared. I asked him again, "You okay?" This time my voice softer than necessary. Under the sound of the annoyed people that walked around us avoiding us I heard a group of guys that were pushing around looking for the small stray cat that layed on me. I stood and held out my hand. He took it and I discovered that his head got no higher than my collar bone. When he heard the troublemakers he tried to run but I wasn't going to let him leave. He turned back at me frightened and I smiled back. It was a group of four big guys that yelled "There he is! We found you cat-kun!" They were tall but I was taller, they wore clothes too big for them, NYC caps turned back and untied shoes. They stopped two feet from us, "Hey! American can you understand us?" I playfully tilted my head slighly to the side and the roared with laughter, "Dumb american! Hey you some wore? Or why are you so cute?" I smiled and took a step so little stray cat was inches behind me. "As a dumb american I warn tou not to mess with my friends. Or are you too stupid to understand me?" The frowned and got mad. "Shut up! Give us that slut!" I turned to see my small companion. "I will only say this once, I will ask you to leave mu friend alone." They laughed and got closer, "You want a fight pretty face boy?" And I just had to laugh, "Only if you don't cry" I was confident, a whole life in kickboxing and self defense was more than enough for these bullys.
"BROTHER!" a feamale vocie yelled from behind us. We all turned and a group of three girls catched up to the quarrel and passed us to the bullys side. "Brother what ARE you doing!?" The leader frowned and told her he was here for "cat-kun" but that "dumb american" was in the way. The girl just got red in fury, turned and walked to me, I hated public scenes. "I am so sorry Prince- kun, I can call you that right? I just heard the other girls call you that so... so... I," I put my hand over stay cat's shoulder and smiled politely. "You can call me however you want. I believe your brother was picking a fight with my friend. And I couldn't allow that." She blushed deep pink and smiled, "Oh, I didn't know Sousuke-kun was your friend. This will never happen again Prince-san. I... I was wondering if you and Yuko-chan w-were going out?" I didn't want to talk. "No, I have no lover" she blushed again and smiled as she turned to her brother and made them leave. The girls turned to wave goodbye to me and I could hear them say "Did you see? I TALKED to him!" This was just stupid.
"You," he turned surprised, "now you'll help me. You'll be my excuse to be out" he seemed confused but nodded. We walked to my car and I opened the door for him. Just seconds from when I started the car that a call from my mother was forwarded on the car's speaker. "Where are you? You just left and said nothing." I sighed, "I went out with a friend and I'm taking him home right now." She giggled "What friend?" I turned to look at cat-kun. "He's right next to me." Cat-kun looked at me and then strait ahead. "...Hellow... I'm Miketsukami Sousuke..." My mom stopped giggling "Oh! A friend! Joshua bring him to dinner! I'll be waiting for both of you. Bye!" She hung up before we could protest. Shit... it DID bring me luck. I looked at my key chain. This wasn't so bad. "You don't have to go." I couldn't press my luck. He kept silent for a second then spoke with his lovly voice. "I owe you one... don't I?" I nodded not taking my eyes off the road, "Fine," he just let his head hang looking at his knotted fingers. I drove in silence for a moment and I realized that I could wring out information. "My name is Joshua Jonathan Steven, Steven is my stepfather's name but he wanted me to use it. I'm 18, capricorn born on December 26, I hate people. My favorite color is gray, I moved to Kyoto three months ago and I won't go to classes til Monday. The girls in a cram school call me Prince and I have a thing for cats." He turned confused, "I said my general information, now say yours incase my mother asks" He blushed so light it was only noticeable in his ears. "Fine..... Miketsukami Sousuke, I'm 18, born on January 12, I also hate people, I have a dog, my parents work and are never home. Live alone. And I only do this because I hate owing anything." I smiled to myself, at least I know his name. I guess I like him. I'm sure I don't hate him.."That's a first.." I sighed, "Don't call me Steven-san. You can only call me Joshua or Josh with no name formality like -kun, -san, -sama, got it?" He nodded once and said, "You can call me Sousuke.. beacause I felt like it. Don't say it more than twice.." By the corner of my eye I saw his ears red. Japanese are very shy and the don't call you by your first name so I had privilages with Sousuke.
The ride was quiet. Just a few small questions like "Do you like dumplings?" And smaller answers like "yes," or "maybe,". Nothing big. When we got to the neighborhood I noticed he jump, he lived close, he was very easy to read. I pretended not to notice when I felt his worried look. I parked outside and waited a second to open his door. "I'm a man you know... you shouldn't open my door.." I smiled "And I'm a gentleaman, I open the door for people." He scoffed as he got out, "A gentleman who hates people... cool.." It was obbiously supposed to be offensive but it was the truth so it didn't bother me. I myself had laughed about that matter.
Melody was the one who opened the door. She was wearing a Death Note sweater and blue shorts. I didn't like it when she showed too much skin but there was nothing I could do about it. She observed Sousuke and smiled widely, "I'm Melody, do you like The GazettE?" I rolled my eyes and Sousuke nodded. She grabbed him like a doll and said "You'll be my friend! Jay, can I have him?" My brow raised, "What?" She was too friendly. Sousuke was pulled in and I was left outside. I was surprised he didn't protest. As I left my shoes in the entrance I could hear my mom tell her not to run in the house and apologize for my sister's sake. She had dragged Sousuke to the backyard, Pugsley was happy when visitors came over. As I walked to the kitchen I helped put out the plates and mother only looked at me without saying anything.
John was the first to break the ice on the table. "So, have you two been friends for long?" I looked at Sousuke who answered, "Only for a few days.." John nodded and mom interrupted, "It's just Josh never really brought friends over" I ignored the comment and smiled "You didn't give us much of a choice". She laughed and started asking questions about Sousuke. "So what were you boys up to today?" Sousuke looked at me from across the table and I winked my eye. "We went to an arcade center just out of curiosity and we happened to stay there a while. Right?" Sousuke nodded and turned back at me. I turned to see Melody and she began talking about her day in cram school. Dinner flew and everyone was in the living room talking about a new videogame. Mom stood next to me while I helped clear the table.
"A friend?" I turned to see her, "You don't lie?" I sighed. "Why would I?" She shook her head and touched my cheek, "You're right," She always knows when something is wrong, yes I lied but it was worth it.
"We hope to see you again!" The whole family was at the door waving goodbye to my new friend. Sousuke just smiled politely, the same smile I wear everyday. I felt understood for once. Sousuke walked pass the car and I stopped him, "I'm gonna take you back, so, where to?" He rolled his eyes at me "Mr. GENTLEMAN my house isn't far. I'll walk.." I had to admit he was good at rubbing my flaws in my face, it's cute.. "Guess WE'LL be walking then." I smiled and he just scouled back. This is fun! I walked right next to him.
He tired walking ahead more than twice but my long strides helped catch up fast. He soon got tired of our game and gave up. He walked 2 blocks ahead and we stopped in front of a house very much like John's but this one haf a different threshold over a step that John's house didn't have and a entrance door with glass decorations. "We're here.." I smirked "Oh, I know." He looked back surprised and I just shrugged "You're quiet predictable." Sousuke was annoyed by that, he had obviously heard that one before. "But you already knew that, right?" He narrowed his eyes and then rolled them. "Well are you going to guess me out?" I laughed "So you DO say whole frases" he was about to protest but I ended the game, "You're right. Guess I should leave, hope you won't see me again? Don't bet on it." He crossed his arms, I knew he was going to say that. Annoyed he just turned and headed in. I brushed my hair back with my hand, come to think of it.. I've never been this playful with someone that wasn't close family... I could have, gotten over my hate with just meeting one I came to like? Memories of earlier today with that girl flashed to mind, I felt repulsive. No. Obviously not over it. I looked up after being lost in thought only to see Sousuke still at the door, back facing me as he gave a last glance in my direction. Meeting my eyes he narrowed them and went in, I felt stupid. I was practically posing on the sidewalk. I got my hand out of my hair and laughed at myself. Aren't you wierd.
I walked back slowly as if trying to mezmorize the way. Will I met him again? My hand wrapped around the Sakura keychain in my right jean pocket. Maybe if good fortune is on my side..
