I remember the day I woke up.
Ice was all around me, but I didn't feel cold or anything.
An extremely thin layer crystallized on my skin, yet I couldn't feel the cold. Someone in a fresh white lab coat cranked up the heat.
"Where am I?" I had asked then.
They told me about my abilities and how I had to be taken away for the sake of everyone's safety.
There were 9.
9 in the world.
9 who appeared one day, confused.
A scientist guided me to my room. When I pulled open the door, something tried to stop me from the inside. The scientist knocked in what seemed like a pattern. I now opened the door with ease.
"Hanayo, this is your new roommate, Eli." the woman explained. I don't really remember anything after that, since it probably wasn't exciting.
Then, my first experiment.
I didn't understand all this science then, and I don't now. When I had to go to the room, I was only told "Listen and follow directions, and everything will be okay."
I think they tested my temperature, dunked me in a tank of boiling water with oxygen tubes, and told me to stay there.
Within 45 minutes, I was frozen in. They then had another girl come in and hug the tank. The water melted within another 45 minutes.
That girl I still don't know the name of.
But I think I'm in love.
