Epilogue: Nineteen Years Later
“Come along, boys!” Emexyinia Malfoy called to her two sons.
Scorpius and Severus trotted along behind her, each pushing a cart of their luggage. Emma walked just a step in front of them, a greyhound puppy under her arm. Her husband strolled along beside her, carrying a cage with a raven inside it. The family was a strange sight on the streets of London, with an assortment of odd animals, including the puppy and bird, and a large cage on one of the boy’s carts with a ferret inside.
“Here we are,” said Emma with a smile as they approached a large stone building. “Kings Cross Station.”
Inside, they found they weren’t the only bizarre family to be found; several other families inside had similar belongings stacked on carts, including odd animals like owls and exotic creatures. The Malfoys joined the masses of other people moving about the station. Finally, they came to the brick barrier that led to platform.
“Go on, Scorpius,” Emma said with a smile. “Show your brother how you go through the wall.”
Severus gulped and looked at the wall. He had gone through it last year, but that seemed so long ago. Scorpius got a running start and quickly pushed his cart through brick wall. Severus was afraid it wouldn’t work and he would hit the wall.
“Dad?” Severus said, looking up at his father.
“Yes, Sev?”
“Will you go with me?”
“Of course, Sev. Come on, let’s go on three.”
Emma smiled and watched as Draco and Severus went through the wall together. She was last and she hurried through after them.
“Hurry now, boys,” she said to her sons. “Let’s get you onboard.”
Emma ushered the boys along, in front of her taking Draco’s free hand as she walked now.
“I can't believe Sev is starting school,” he sighed.
“Neither can I,” Emma said. “It seems like just yesterday he was no taller than a house elf!”
“I hope he and Scorpius get along at school.”
“Don’t worry,” Emma said. “My father and I will be looking after them.”
Emma looked around at the students and noticed some familiar faces. She was just about to say goodbye to Scorpius and Sev when a familiar voice called her name.
“Professor Malfoy!”
James and Albus Potter ran up to Emma, with Harry, Ginny, and Lily following along behind him.
“Hello boys! How are you? Ready for potions class this year?” she asked.
“I got a new cauldron and a copy of this year’s textbook,” James said with a big smile.
“Did you tell your father about how you melted your cauldron last year?” she asked, looking up at Harry. “Just like your father, you are.”
Harry smiled at her.
“I trust that you will be looking after the school’s newest rebel,” said Harry.
“Oh, that’s right! Lily is starting school this year!”
Emma smiled at Harry’s daughter. She smiled back nervously. Emma ducked down to her height so they were at eye level.
“I think I’ve told you before, but I’m the Potions Mistress at Hogwarts. I’ll be teaching you all about potions,” she said to her.
