Imagine a small town, so very small that if you stand in the of the main grocery store parking lots, you can see half of the entire town with no problem. Population of around 400, everyone knows everyone, theres no secretes to this small town, and even tho it can be a bit cliche and overwhelming at times, this town is my home, and I love it, I love most things about it, the homely feel, the never ending support from your neighbors, yes there's drama, but it seems in our small forgiving town that, the love always outweighs the drama. At the end of the day, all is forgiven and tomatrow is a new day.
The town itself gets visters all the time, why I will never know why, there's nothing exciting to see hear, so the only reason I can think of people wanting to visit this town is the simple welcoming feeling you get as soon as you arrive in Bates parish!
Now once a year the town has a free fair, it's basically the talk of the town year around, people from everywhere come to our town to experience it. There is two reason people come to the fair. One, to have a blast with family and friends, to ride rides until you throw up, and eat so much you can barley walk back to your vehicle. Or two to spend the most romantic day with your partner. To walk hand in hand with the one person you want to be with at that very moment, to ride the fariswheel to the very top and take a picture with them and the view behind you. This year, the fair was a emotional rollercoaster ride I was not expecting, the fair is how I met,my complete opposite, I am a southern born girl from the country, and a very intimidating, sexy, mafia boss from new York noticed me.
It all began when I was waiting in a extramily large line at a food booth called The grill. When I say extrmly large I mean like 15 people in front of me large, did I mention I am a very impatient person, but in my defence all I wanted was a ice cold coke a cola.
"This is ridiculous." I heard from behind me. I turned around to meet, with out a doubt the sexist man I have ever seen, even with a mad expression on his beautiful face. He was staring right back at me, with his cold green eyes, I knew the moment I layied eyes on him he was dangrous. In the mist of all my rambaling thoughts I managed to say somthig along the lines of..yes, tell me about it. And turned around. I could feel him eyeing me from behind.I got my coke and practically ran to my group of friends waiting in line to ride the speed.
The Speed was the biggest ride the fair had, four people could fit on it at a time. It spun you in every direction possible and brought you so high in the air you could practically touch the moon, ok maybe not that high, but u get my drift. My four best friends Jeremy, janet, rebbeca, and Stephanie, and I had along wait ahead of us and we were talking and laughing.
"Wow Krissy you look hot today" as I looked at my dress, witch was a hi-low top half cream, bottom half teal dress with a belt at my waist and my cow girl boots to match it, I turned around to see None other than, the last person I ever wanted to see again, my ex boyfriend Matthew. He was staring at me with conniving eyes and all I could do was roll my eyes and tell him to fuck off, I could barley look at him without the emotions of our previous relationship, come flooding back in my mind. My friends noticed this and before I knew it there was a huge commotion about how he should leave me alone.
I felt two strong arms pulling me out of line and I let them drag me whenever they were taking me, feeling a odd serge of comfort flow threw me. When I felt us stop walking I turned to the owner of the strong arms and noticed the guy from the ridiculous long line when I got my coke.
There was a silence. No more yelling, no more screams of enjoyment from the rides, no more kids laughing, I heard nothing. All I could hear was my heart beat, all I could see were those deep dangerous green eyes staring into my blue eyes.
We stayed in the silent moment for what seemed like forever when he broke the silence.
