Clichedness
Let me admit the fact that I absolutely love reading clichés. You can call me a boring, girly, stupid, idiot, moron or whatever you wish but I will still read clichéd stories. But you know a fact? At some point of time even I got annoyed of the clichés. You want to know why…..
Because there are so freaking many!
Please, does wattpad need so many clichés? I think you know the answer.
Oh and of course, how can I forget the vampires and werewolfs here, huh?!
I am sick on finding the words, ‘alpha’, ‘mate’ and whatever the fuck they have in werewolf stories! When Stephanie Meyer came up with the stupid idea of having a love triangle of a stupid human and a vampire and werewolf it was unique. Keyword: Itwas
And suddenly for all those people, ‘Stephanie Meyer’ became their inspiration. Coincidence? I think not.
Because every single person wants to copy her idea now.
Be a little original for God’s sake!
Vampires are supposed to be scary and creepy. Not sexy, funny and players. So please stop turning vampires into humans because they have their own style.
So here are some of the clichés I see around here.
1)Bad Boy and Good Girl: In this type of stories, its always the bad boys the fall for the good girl or always the good girl that falls for the bad boy. Its either due to some sort of a bet, or tutoring or for some other reason. Now when someone came up with this idea for the first time, it was cool. But now, its not.
2) Hot Player and the Geek: This annoys the crap out of me. Not all players fall for the geeks. So please stop having so many stories over this!
3) Best Friends (my personal favourite): I used to be obsessed with this a year back, but it got annoying and stupid once I realized that all books follow the same storyline. First they become best friends, and later on the girl or the boy starts developing feelings for one another and then later on due to some ‘romantic’ encounters they confess their love for one another. And bam! Here comes the epilogue where they both are getting married and living happily ever after.
So what I thought here was, you can have your own way with these clichés. For example, why can’t the girl be the player for once, and the boy be the geek? I’m sure there might be boys in your school who are geeks!
And why does always the girl have to be good. Why can’t it be something like, both the boy and girl are bad but inspite of having almost everything in common, they still hate each other?! I’m sure this would be an interesting storyline.
Also, it doesn’t always have to be that the best friends SHOULD have feelings for each other. Because it doesn’t happen all the time. Maybe it can be something like, the boy (or the girl) is popular, whereas the other person is the geek so this causes a barrier in their friendship and they start to grow more distant? Why can’t it be something like that?!
You see what I mean here? If you are so fond of writing something, then try and make it more original and good. Only then can people be attracted towards your book.
Thanks again guys,
Happy Wattpading!
