Chapter 2: Crush, chop and burn: Part 2

Zooey Deschanel plays Gemma and her outfit for the day is at the top. I know she's like 30 years old, but let's just pretend she's 15 because she looks younger than 30.

Gemma's POV

Leo and I went down to the lab after we got dressed and saw Chase putting some of Big D's supplies in a cardboard box.

"What are you doing?" Leo asked.

"If Davenport is gonna ship us off to some remote facility, then the office supplies are coming with us." Chase answered and sat down next to me.

"We just got our first taste of normal life. I was this close to getting a curfew which I was totally gonna break. And I just got Gemma as my best friend." Bree said and looked at me. She super speeded over to me and said, "Girl! I am loving your outfit. Where'd you get it from?"

"A shop." I said like it was obvious. I stood up and saw that Adam and Chase were checking me out. I waved a hand in front of their faces and said,

"Boys, up here."

They looked up and Chase blushed. Aww!

"Ooh! But maybe when we get to wherever we're going, we'll meet a sassy lab chimp named Bobo who will take us on adventures and teach us how to love." Adam said randomly.

I looked at him weirdly and Chase said sarcastically, "Or maybe you'll make him angry and he'll maul you and snack on your fingers."

"Hey, I create the monkey fantasies around here." Adam said getting up.

"Does this happen all the time?" I asked Bree.

"You don't wanna know." She replied.

I nodded and then Eddy came up on his screen and said in his annoying voice,

"Well, kids, I hope you've enjoyed your stay at casa Davenport. I know I haven't. Sayonara."

"Eddy, I know we've never been the best of friends, but we're gonna miss you." Bree lied.

"Aw, really?" Eddy asked.

"No!" Adam.

"We hate you!" Bree.

"You're evil!" Chase.

All those things the trio said about him just now was true.

"Hey, where is this training facility anyways?" I asked Eddy.

"Facility X? Oh, it's all the rage." Eddy said and showed us a picture of a tropical island.

"That's pretty nice!" Chase said.

"Oops! Sorry! That's my screen saver! You're going here!" Eddy said and showed a different picture of a place covered with snow and a small building.

"Forget about office supplies. We should be gathering wood." Chase said since it looked like a place with no heating.

"Man, I wish we hadn't thrown that party." Leo said. "I can't help, but think this is all our fault."

"Oh, that's because it is the both of yours fault." Adam said making us feel worse. I could feel the tears coming. Chase put his arm around my shoulder and held me.

"Adam, they were only trying to help is." Bree said defending the two of us.

"Well, yeah, but they did the opposite, which is not help us. The 'not' makes it the opposite." Adam said and one tear fell out of my eye. I wiped it before anyone could see. "I'm just so bummed. It's the only place we've ever known." Adam said.
