Chapter 3: (Daisy's / Charlie's POV)

"Hi" I said shocked to see him outside of the bathroom of the restaurant my mother took us for my birthday.

"I never thought i was going to see you again" He replied obviously happy to see me, and if i'm being honest i felt the same way.

"Me neither" I commented blushing due to feeling like i have butterflies inside, what is going on with me? why do i feel like this? i shook myself out of it and decided to do what was right.

"I would like to apologize for being rude to you earlier, I don't know what came over me" I apologized looking deeply into his eyes.

"You were being rude?" he asked completely lost with me. I nodded in response, lost in the moment. I hadn't felt this smitten over someone since Annabeth ... Luckily and just in time, a man walked past  needing to go to the bathroom making us move and come out of whatever had just happened to us.

"I should go" I stated attempting to walk away before he stopped in front of me.

"Can i at least get your number?" He asked which sounded more like a beg.

"You are very persistent aren't you?" I asked teasing him a little.

"Until the day i die" he said which i chuckled at a little at the irony of his comment. He laughed at my laugh too, the sound musing to my ears.

"Do you have something to write it down on?" i asked before he got his phone out. I read out my number and checked on his phone to see if it was right.

"Well my phone is at my table where i should actually be" I said smiling before i turned around and walked away. I walked back to my table and saw my mother with a cake lit up with candles and smile filling her face.

"Sorry that took so long, just bumped into someone and had to clear some things up" I explained as i sat down.

"Whats this?" i asked happily surprised.

"It's just a certain something to make your day a little bit more special" She commented as She took my hands and held them on the table as i blew the candles out wishing for the same thing i have done for many years now : to be free .

"I'm sure that there can not be the exact amount of candles for my age" I stated laughing at the sentiment of her idea.

"To be honest i gave up after twenty five" she said making us both laugh at our humor towards our situation.

"I should hope so" I said jokingly. I let go of one of her hands and took a sip of my wine as did she.

"I'm sorry Elizabeth and your Annabeth couldn't be here sweetheart, i know they wouldn't have dreamed of being anywhere else." My mother commented putting her glass down, I half smiled remembering the fallen as i put my glass down on the table.

"Well not everyone" I stated as i sorted out my dress reminding her of a certain someone.

"Your father would no matter how he felt about the circumstances of this debocal" she defended. I understood her wanting to defend him as i have forgiven him over time myself but the fact that he never let us explain hurt more than anyone would know. My tear-jerking trigger was then pulled as memories flooded back and i tried as much as i could to hold back the tears, but i struggled.

"Oh my darling" she murmured squeezing my hands to show that she was there. She was the only one not only going through the same thing as i am but she knows what it was like to loose a daughter too. I let go of one of her hands and took the unused napkin to my eyes, careful not to smudge my mascara and only to wipe away the tears.

"I'm sorry" I apologized looking down at the table feeling embarrassed of just making a scene.

"It's okay." She spoke up comforting me, i looked up to my mother and saw that her eyes to had welled up.  She put up a smile as we both tried to shake of the hand of cards we had been given.

"Now let's stop this nonsense. It's your birthday not a memorial" she said jokingly once more. This was a side to my mother is rarely saw in her, the mother i needed by my side.

"You are right" I said putting on a face to forget about the fallen.

"I know" she said cockily. Our deserts finally came in the nick of time and as we were eating, telling stories and sharing memories of our fast 5 years apart, a roar of anger and quite frankly embarrassment was heard across the restaurant.

"That's how to make a scene" Mother commented as we turned to look at them. I saw it was Dan and his large table making the noise, with a woman stood up shouting a him.

"I cant believe you! After everything I've done for you!" The blonde woman shouted sounding a little tipsy. She looked so agitated at him but yet so smitten over him, it got on my nerve a little.

"Lara i'm taking you home!" another woman from the table said pulling her arm. The blonde woman who i'm guessing is Lara pulled her arm away from her and gave her a childish look

"Whatever!" she squealed like a frustrated 4 year old. They all stood up to leave and that's when i saw Dan searching the restaurant looking for someone, he looked lost like he didn't know what to do. But that changed when our gazes met.

"Could she have embarrassed herself anymore?" Mother said also watching the show, I took in half of what she said as i grinned at his expression towards me. He didn't look lost anymore, he looked relieved more than anything. As someone pulled him away and towards the door, he just smiled at me before giving in to his friends wish to leave.

"She at least tried" I replied back to to my mother making her smile at my response. I could tell that she noticed my distraction but she chose to ignore it, just like i should be doing.
