Chapter 4: (Daniel's POV)

Once i got back to my table, Lara's hand's were all over me and i couldn't seem to shake her off me. I kept on looking over at Charlie's table to see if she would see Lara but she didn't even turn her head in my general direction anyway. After a while, I and everyone else on the table could tell that Lara had had too many to drink and was on the border line of embarrassing herself.

"Well someone's hammered" Phil my dad's neighbor spoke up aiming the comment to Lara.

"No" she said full well knowing.

"Daniel i think you should take her home" My dad said directly to me and i nodded.

"Come on! honey ..." Lara moaned placing her hand back on my thigh. I removed it once more which annoyed her a lot.

"Really Dan?" she asked referring to the hand, the others didn't know what she was on about but i knew if they would know, she would be humiliated in the morning.

"Let's go Lara" I stated getting my money for our meals and put it on the table.

"I cant believe you! After everything I've done for you!" Lara shouted being melodramatic about what i had just said.

"What have i said?" I asked rolling my eyes in my dad's direction and he laughed finding the scene amusing.

"Lara i'm taking you home!" Lara's work friend said pulling her arm to get out before she embarrassed herself but instead of leaving straight away, Lara pulled her arm away from her and glared at everyone at the table.

"Whatever!" she squealed before she stormed out.

"Lara wait" Lara's friend shouted after her running like a teenager to get to the popular kid. I couldn't believe that Lara would do that, not only in a restaurant but also in front of my dad and she know's she's on thin ice with my folks anyway.

"I think that's our queue to leave" Mickey said as we all stood up to leave but i couldn't help leave to look for Charlie to see if she had seen Lara which she had seemed too. Her friend was talking to her as they watched our table leave. She started smiling in my direction before Mickey practically pulled me away to sort out Lara.

"Come on dude we need to go" Mickey said pulling me out the door. I smiled at Charlie before i turned to walk out. As i was the last one out and the sober one of the group, i decided on ordering everyone a cab out apart for me and Lara, i think it was time i spoke to her. When i looked over to the car after i put everyone in a cab, Lara was sat sulking in the truck. She was clearly not in the right state of mind for someone to have a serious conversation with so deciding on whats best, i drove her home in silence and decided on waiting for tomorrow to tell her.

"Have i done something wrong?" she asked breaking the silence as i drove closer home.

"What?" i asked wondering where that came from, i'm surprised she would even ask that, normally she would forget what embarrassing thing she had done and deny it.

"You've come back and been really off with me" She explained as seriously as she could be but the slurring didn't help her in that case.

"I'm not having a serious conversation like this now" I stated looking forward trying to avoid the conversation before she got defensive and started an argument she wouldn't remember in the morning.

"What does that mean?" she asked getting defensive as i parked up the car.

"It means we'll talk about it tomorrow." I stated as i got out the car. She managed to get out of the car without falling on her face but when she slammed the door after her, i could tell she was annoyed now, a feeling she was making me feel.

"Fine" she muttered as she followed after me shortly. Once we got in, i decided on texting Charlie to see if her number actually worked.

'hey'

"Who are you texting?" Lara asked whilst she got changed into her pajamas. I started to get changed in to mine as well as she jumped on the bed playfully, grabbing my phone to look through it.

"Lara" i said pissed that she would actually do that, i guess trust is out the window.

"Who's Charlie? Is he your mate from work?" she asked. She thought she is a he. I don't want to lie to Lara about who Charlie is but then again Lara will only get jealous and since we're going to have to talk about us soon, it's best if she doesn't get the wrong idea.

"Yeah" I said simply but when i turned around, she was flat out cold and sprawled across the bed. Once i was dressed for bed, i picked her up bridal style and tucked her into bed before i went around the bed, taking my phone to put it on the side table, and getting into bed myself turning the light off. Just as I was fading in out and out of sleep, feeling a lot more comfortable than I have been in a while, when I got a text lighting up the room. I checked it and noticed it was from Charlie:

'Hey x'

I half smiled at the fact that she text back. I rewinded as I thought about how I kept on bumping into Charlie today before I fell asleep.
