Moving Out

The next day after school I stop by my apartment and grab the skateboards I decided to sell to Mr. Flint and head to the shop.

"Hey boss I'm here and I brought a bunch of merch to sell." I yell as I peak into the back.

"If it isn't my favorite worker/customer/supplier Jade!" he says making me laugh.

"Unfortunately I have to quit after today." I say with a frown.

"But why?" he asks me surprised.

"Because there's something I have to put all of my efforts into." I say and he nods.

"Alright let's see this merch." He let's out low whistle when he sees how many skateboards I was carrying. "You carried let's see 15 skateboards from your apartment here? How hard was that?"

"Incredibly so sir." I say as he looks through them all until he finds one and let's out another whistle.

"You've got some amazing skateboards here Jade. You sure you don't want them?" he asks me and I nod.

"Well as far as I can tell, this is a full set of four all in mint condition which is great for board collectors. I'd offer 1200 for that alone. The next board set are the three with American flags. Since I already have this set I'll give you 100 for that and after that there's no sets, but one of them specifically I will give you 300 because its not made anymore and then the rest let's say 400. No 600. One of them could cost a lot on the market."

"Holy crap! And I hope your not cheating me out of anything. Nah I trust you." I say looking him straight in the eye to make sure he's giving me best price.

"Fine you caught me 800 for the rest. And I'll take 100 out for your new one." He says and we shake. I'm getting 2700 dollars. Holy crap, I've never even seen that much money.

"Do you have a card or something?" He asks me "I don't want my favorite skater to get mugged and lose all the money she just got."

"I don't unfortunately." I say and he sighs taking the money out of the register.

"Be careful honey." He says and I nod.

"I will sir, and its been a real pleasure Mr. Stone!" I say with a smile, but little did I know that as soon as I left he packed up shop and went to make some other kid's life awesome. I call Donnie on my phone and tell him I'm done working and he tells me that Leo is coming to help me. Aw crap I shoulda took some of my converse too.

"You ready Jade?" I hear a polite voice say.

"Well I'm done working and my clothes and skateboards are taken care of. But now we have a quandary." I say sitting in the middle of 40 pairs of converse.

"What the hell? How many pairs of shoes can you even wear?" he exclaims.

"I know I'm sorry. I was so focused on my skateboards that I forgot about my shoes." I say groaning.

"Fine, pick ten pairs leave the rest" he says and I wince. That's like telling a gamer he can only play ten games or an otaku they can only watch ten more anime. He stares at me and I turn around organizing my shoes. I eventually end up picking the ones I want and leave the rest but believe me just like with the skateboards it was like ripping my soul out of my body and feeding it to sharks. I put the converse in the bag with my skateboard wheels and everything to put them back together and move out.

"Here's your room." Leo tells me leading me to a normal looking kind of room. I nod and drop my stuff on the floor. "When your settled in, Splinter would like to see you." I nod and he leaves. I put the only picture I have of my mom on the shelf that's there and then unpack everything neatly, even though it's probably not gonna stay that way. I walk into the dojo and see Splinter meditating again.
