(Flashback)
"Hey Orion! Come hang out over here!" It was on a Thursday afternoon after school when I'd met him, personally. And I remember traumatizing shit so vividly so that's how I was able to give you the exact day.
[ "Do you remember the day you and your ex-girlfriend met? Sammy asked teasingly. "November 20, 20- that isn't the damn point." I snapped. ]
....Anyways.
Orion was always a bit of a loner, the type who had friends but didn't really acknowledge them until he got sick of being alone with just his thoughts. I got the feeling he wasn't really into them so I thought it'd be cool if he hung out with us; us meaning me, Nate, Foushee, and the Jacks.
["Where was Maggie?" Ianthe asked. "Uh, still blonde," Sammy said jokingly.
"I liked my blonde hair."
Johnson touched Maggie's hair saying: "You know I think you'd look good with lighter colored roots but still overall Brown hair, I don't really think-" "Guys! Jesus let me finish." They all muttered sorry's and finally let me speak]
Back to what I was saying. Okay Orion was a bit of a loner; blah, blah, blah. But what we didn't know, was the thing that changed him. It had been two years since his mom died, and I'd been the one who'd-
[ I paused while the others looked expectantly, I couldn't tell them that part. It hurt too much. ]
I mean I was the one who was by Orion's side trying to you know, cheer him up. Keep him in good spirits. His father took it pretty hard too, but not in the way I imagined it. Sure he drank a couple times, but it was never consistent or even close to saying he was a binge drinker. After Orion's mom died there were more women was in his dad's life. It was like, after all the years they were married, her dying gave him the chance to do what he wanted.
Whist even though me and Orion wern't good friends, sometimes he'd have to spend the night, since we lived close to one another. Those were the night's when his dad had "visitors." Months had passed and his dad finally slowed down with his little "problem," but when he got himself together Orion started acting...weird.
He'd try to latch on to certain things that reminded him of his mom. I never really questioned it, but after a while he became obsessed and jittery; always searching for things to grasp onto from her. The sentimental things? I mean sure, it's cool to have that. But Orion had other things in mind like hauling all of her clothes in his closet, and keeping his hand on his mom's old bags; just to keep himself calm.
When we'd go to school he'd try to cope there as well. Latching on to people who had the same traits as his mother. Eventually Orion realized that it was wrong what he was doing and to let go, someone new came to school.
It was a girl.
The splitting image of Orion's mother, when she first came I thought he made some weird deal with a witch to bring her back. Her shoulder length cut hair and piercing hazel eyes matched exactly to Claudia's.
