"Come on, Heidi. Get up, get up, get up." My twin sister, Noela said, flickering my bedroom light on and off.

"Go away." I groaned.

"Come on, you can't miss the first day of school."

"I'm sick." I faked a cough.

"Liar." She ran out of the room.

I sighed, sitting up. She was right. I couldn't miss the first day of school. My twin wouldn't allow it. And it was the beginning of first college semester.

Ugh. College. Or in some cases, my living hell. Actually I'd like hell better than college. The only good part was the parties. And sometimes it wasn't even worth it.

I hurriedly got up, hoping rushing it would make the day end sooner. I ran to my closet, grabbing my grey fur boots, blue denim jeans and black tank top. Casual. Good enough for me.

I threw the clothes on, accidentally putting the shirt on backwards. I cursed and fixed it. I put on my silver locket and matching earrings.

I brushed through my hair quickly, and braided it loosely. I glanced at myself in the mirror before darting into the kitchen.

Usually on school mornings I eat a bowl of cereal, but I skipped, going to brush my teeth.

I walked back into the kitchen, but jumped when I saw my roommate. She looked like a total mess. Her hair was piled on top of her head, a knotted mess even though it was in a bun.

Any other time she was a beautiful, straight haired blond girly girl who thought of what others thought.

I had to grind my teeth together to keep from laughing. Or maybe to keep from gasping.

"Good morning, Heidi" She said softly.

"Um, hi." I said slowly. She blinked continuously, yawning drowsily. She poured her self a cup of coffee, and in an instant she was moving around the kitchen too fast for me to comprehend what she was doing.

My roommate started staring at my face. I gave her a confused look. "What?" I asked.

She sighed. "You are too beautiful for your own good." She muttered.

A foreign emotion flickers in her eyes but disappears just as quickly. I couldn't quite grasp what it was though. Jealousy?

I shook my head. No. Terra wasn't jealous of me. Her hair was a flawless blonde and she had hazel eyes.

"Why do you always say that?"

"Because, even the girls who are straight would drool over you, Heidi."

"Whatever." But she was right even in high school, it was like that.

And you would not believe the looks I got from guys. But I really didn't care for having a boyfriend. And I turned down boys more frequently than ever.

I frowned. Even my sister hated me. My exquisite beauty brought her hell. I was known as the flawless twin, while she was the normal twin.

Her nickname in high school was genetic mess up, while I was called multiple good names. Of course I defended my sister. I had every care in the world for her.

I didn't truly see the beauty everyone else saw. I mean, I saw the perfect skin and hair, but why did it matter to them?

I sighed. "Are you ready for college?" I asked.

"Am I ready to party non-stop? Hell yes!"

I laughed. "Is that all you can think about?"

"Hey, I know you were thinking of it too."

"Yes, but not about non-stop!" I said, laughing again.

"Well today I'm going to see if any hot guys attend this school." She said in a low voice.

"Wow. Are you being serious?"

"Yup." She grinned.

"Good luck with that."

"Where's Noela?"

"I don't know..."

"You should go find her, we have to leave soon."

"Noela!" I yelled.

"What?" She screamed back.

"Found her." I said to Terra.

"Noela, we have to leave now."

She came in with her head down. "Alright, let's go." She whispered.

"Noela." I said.

"What?"

"Why are you hiding your face?"

"I'm not."

"Yes you are."

I walked over to her and pulled her face up where I could see it. I gasped. She was wearing a lot of make up.

"Noela, why are you wearing so much?" I asked.

"I don't want to be called a genetic mess up. I want to look perfect like you." She whispered.

"Noela, perfect doesn't have to be what others see. It what you see in yourself and how you look at it. And I am not perfect. I promise you."

"But you look perfect! It's not fair! How did this happen? How come you were born so perfect?" She screamed.

"No, stop. Why are you jealous of me?"

"Because you are perfect! You have good grades, a perfect face and body, and mom and dad didn't have to waste so much money on you for you to be in college! You got a scholarship!" She yelled.

"I thought you got a scholarship on sports."

"No, I am too clumsy. Why do you think I never made it to the meets?"

"I'm sorry, I didn't know that-"

"Stop, it's over. Done with."

"Listen Noela, I never knew you were that jealous of me."

"Not of you, you stupid snobby bitch."

Terra gasped. I felt my skin heating up. I started shaking with anger. I glared at her, wanting to slap her. I took deep breaths, calming myself.

"What have I ever done to you?"

"You were born, Heidi."

She glanced at me before storming out of the apartment.

"Noela!" I yelled. I started for the door, but Terra caught my arm.

"Heidi, let her go. She really needs some time to think."

I nodded and walked out of the room.

How could my sister hate me so much? She blamed me because of how pretty I was. How could I change it?

There was nothing I could do.
