Chapter 13

After school I said bye to Alex and I went home. It was 6pm when I heard the doorbell ring. My mom went to get the door and I heard her talking to someone.

"Sophia, get down here now!"

I can tell she was angry. I heard it in her time.

"Ya ma. What happened?.

Then I see Alex at the door with roses in his hands. It was a nice gesture but he is in danger now.

"Sophia who is this?"

My mother said through her teeth. I couldn't find my words. I was so nervous. Then Alex says

"Hi i am Alex. I know you won't approve but please let me take your daughter on a date."

"Have her back by 10."

My mother said. Now she was beyond pissed. I could tell because as she told that to Alex a Spanish accent came out.

"I'll be ready in 15 minutes."

I decided to wear a short pink flowy dress with skin toned shoes. I wore mascara. My hair was down with my curls. As I walked down the stairs Alex's eyes go wide. Before I left the door my mom says

" I hope you have fun because this might be the last time you will have fun."

Alex seemed super nervous. We went to see "Project Almanac" and the we went to "Red Lobster." We are dinner and stayed at the restaurant for an hour. Then Alex grabbed my hand and said

" Sophia we have to go."

We are back at my house.

" Sophia you look beautiful. I mean you always look beautiful its just that uh...."

I cut him off there and placed my lips on top of his. He was surprised and then he kissed me back. He pulled away and said

"Oh crap. I almost forgot."

He pulled out a long box with rapping paper on it.

"Oh.. You didn't have to...

Alex cut me off and said

" Please just open it Sophia. Its for me and you."

I opened the box. There were two bracelets. One was purple and the other was blue. Those were our favorite colors. He said the blue one was for me. On the bracelet it said "his". On the purple one it said "hers".
He gave me a kiss on the cheek and said

"I'll see you tomorrow at the school."

He wore his purple bracelet and I wore my blue one.

Then I entered into my house and my parents were at the table and they said

" Sit down. Explain everything. How you met him and what type of person he is."

So I explained him to them. He sounded great to me. I guess not to them because the next thing they said made me angry.

" You are to no longer see him, if we see him with you we will put a restraining order on him."

"What! No way! Please don't. I love him."

As those words escape my mouth they looked at me as if I just said the dumbest thing ever. My mother grabs my fathers hand and says

"Come on Jeffery. When we get back we are going to finish this conversation. Your grounded. Watch your brothers."

"What? I hate you"

With that they left.

It was 10pm and mom and dad still weren't back. As I headed to bed I get a phone call.

"Hello?"

"Hello is this Sophia Lopez?"

" yes who is calling?"

"This is the holy cross hospital. Carla and Jeffery have been in an accident. They were impacted by a drunk driver. We did everything we could to save them."

With that I hung up the phone and my world stopped in its tracts as I remember the last words I said to them. "I hate you"
