"Ugh. Are we there yet?"

"I swear if you ask me that again, Ash, you aren't getting any dinner." my mom yells at my brother.

"Fine. I will rephrase the question: Are we almost there?" Ash asks.

"That isn't any better." my mom says. "But yes."

"Mom, we have been walking for two days straight and you still won't tell us where you are taking us." I point out.

"Could you two be anymore inpatient? Look, we're here."

My mother is taking me and my brother to some secret place. She won't tell us what it is.

"What is it?" Ash asks, tilting his head.

"Our new home." my mom answers, smiling.

"What happened to our old one?"Ash asks.

"You two grew to big for it. Plus, it started to smell." Mom answers. "Let's go inside."

We crawl inside. I can instantly smell a scent. It is old. Nobody has lived here in a long time.

"Nice." Ash says. He walks ahead and goes into another area of the den. "Dibs"

I walk into another room. There are leaves and sticks everywhere.

Ash pokes his head into the room. "Wow. I totally missed this awesome room," he says sarcastically.

"Shut up." I retaliate. "At least mine isn't right next to Mom's."

Mom walks in. "We haven't been here two minutes and you two picked out your rooms already."

"Yep," I say.

My stomach begins growling. I haven't eaten since that mouse ran by a day ago.

"Woah. I heard that." Ash says.

"What? I'm hungry."

"Me, too." Ash agrees.

"I am going to go hunt. You two don't kill each other." she says.

She walks out and for the first few minutes I think me and my brother aren't going to get into trouble. Then...

"I'm so bored. We need to go do something fun." Ash calls from his room.

"How did I know you were going to say that?"

"Come on. I'm bored. I need to do something fun."

"We just walked for two days straight and you want to walk some more."

"There isn't anything fun to do."

"Count the rocks." I say. "Or go dig for worms."

"Seriously. That wasn't even fun when I was little." He says. "If you don't want to come, I can always go by myself."

"Mom wants us to stay here."

"She never actually said that. She said, 'I am going to hunt. You two don't kill each other.'"

"True," I realize. "Okay. I'm bored, too. Let's go."
