Everything is black again. I can faintly hear someone calling out my name. As my vision clears, the voice gets louder and louder. It's Minx. She repeatedly pecks at my face and says my name.
"Eliot! Eliot, wake up!" She pecks my eye really hard.
"Ow! Minx, why are you trying to peck my eye out?" I stand up and check the eggs. All okay. Thank goodness, I say to myself.
I catch my breath then realize something obvious. "Wait, aren't you dead?"
She looks at me confused. "I sure hope not."
"But Maisy said you were- Maisy! Where is she?" I say in a panic.
"She's outside. The animals are enacting the plan remember." She hops onto my head. I wince. "How hard did that log hit you?"
No one's dead? How hard did that log hit me?
"So no one's dead?" Minx nods. "Where's the Stealer?"
"I think he ran towards the barn. The mice should be ready." She jumps off me and turns. "I'm gonna go make sure things are going according to plan."
I lay back down on the eggs as Minx runs out. Did I really imagine all of that? Did I really just imagine everyone dying? Why would I think of something like that?

Maisy's POV
I watch as Minx and Eliot walk to the chicken pen. Who would of ever thought that a fox and a chicken would be working together?
I run over to Ryder and Dot. Dot is licking the wool on one of the lambs. Ryder is watching as a bunch of kid head butt each other.
"Nice one! Lower your head a bit more!" Ryder encourages. He sees me and calls Dot over.
"Hey, Ryder. Dot, you ready to get rid of the Sheerer?"
Dot looks relieved. "Ready as I'll ever be. I'm surprised you're going along with this, Maisy. The herder did raise, you after all."
"Oh, please. Maisy knows that this is the right thing to do," Ryder says. "The Stealer, Sheerer, Herder, Farmer, whatever you call him, needs to pay for what he's done to us."
"He's never really done anything to me, but it's not right what he does to you all," I agree. "Like Ryder said, he needs to pay."
"Well I hope Minx's plan works. If it doesn't-"
"HEY! LITTLE LADY!" I jump as a bellowing voice rings throughout the farm. I spin to see Magnus standing by the fence. "COME HERE! I WANT TO TALK TO YOU!"
I hesitate for a moment, but I began walking to the stubborn bull. His horns point high into the sky and his hooves beat the ground. "What do you want, Magnus?"
"Little Lady, we want to help."
"Now you want to help! Minx already explained the plan to everybody." I bark at him.
"Don't you bark at me, Little Lady!"
"Don't call me Little Lady!"
"Fine, Maisy. Let me explain. The cows and I thought about your offer to get rid of the Farmer and we changed our minds."
"What possibly could've change your mind?" I ask.
"We realized that we're sick of him taking our calves. The male ones to be specific. I work hard to make them, and I don't appreciate the fact that he takes them away just because they like their mothers."
"Gross."
"Anyway," he says loudly, "Can we help?"
"Sure. When the Farmer gets here and goes to the chicken pen, he'll see Eliot. Then he'll run to the barn or the house where we'll attack him. Got it?"
"Got it." The cows say in unison.
"Be ready." I turn and run to the house. I lay on the porch and close my eyes. What did I just get myself into?
"Maisy!" Legend yells.
"Now what?" I say with my eyes still closed.
"Sorry to wake you, but he's here."
"Already?" I open my eyes and listen for the sound of his 'car' running over the Dirt Path. "Go make sure everyone's ready."
I watch as Legend runs to his pasture. I turn my head to the Farmer. "Here we go."
