Ika laid on his bed, thoughts drumming threw his head. He brought his hand to his left eye, wincing upon contact. He sighed, and got up, moving to the mirror. His grey eyes were red from the tears. His left eye bruised, and almost swollen shut. He examined it, then, with a heavy heart, he grabbed his phone. He put on a fake smile, and dialed the number. "Hello?" A female voice answered. "Hey Eco!" He said with a 'happy' voice. "Hello!" She cheered, "How are you?" The boy smiled, "I'm fine. Thanks for asking." She hummed, "So, what's up? You NEVER call to just TALK!" She joked. Ika laughed, "We still going to the mall?" She cursed, "I forgot! Gove me like....an hour!" He chuckled, "Alright, call me when you're ready." She agreed, "Love you, bye!" Ika smiled sadly, repeating the same words. They both hung up, and instantly, Ika burst into tears. Eco didn't do a thing. It was the fact that no one, except her, has said those words in a long time. He thought about his eye again. Mostly how it came to be....how it is. Kio, his brother. He...hated Ika. He made this horrible mark. And more! Bruises littered over his body: his arms, legs, stomach, everything. "Why..." Ika whispered, "Why do you hate me...so much?" He knew no answer would come fourth. He dragged his hand threw his white hair, fixing it so it covered his bruised eye. He sat on the bed, again. The same thoughts entered his mind. He glanced at the bedside table. Hesitantly, he opened it. Revealing its contents: three razors, one bloody, one rusty, one new; and a black pistol.

"Promise me?"

The words rang in his head.

"Promise me you won't do it?"

Eco asked him this, three days ago. The day she found his scars. "I-I'll try." He replied. "No! No 'I'll try'! I want an 'I promise'!" "I promise."

I promise. The words repeated in his head, as he grabbed the bloody one. He examined it, the blood, of course, wasn't fresh. Tears pricked his eyes, "I-I'm sorry, Eco. I tried. I really did." He closed his eyes, pressing the cold metal to his wrist. He made one cut across. Ika watched the blood bubble out, rolling down his wrist, and dripping on the floor. He had another, and another.

He kept at it until his wrist was covered in blood, cuts everywhere. The pain became a numb feeling. Tears rolled from his eyes as he got up. He pushed open the bathroom door and turned on the light. His eyes widened when he seen the mirror.

'DIE' was written in black marker. Kio. It had to be him. Ika starred at it for a while. He turned on the foist, trying to rub it off. He sighed when it didn't, Kio must have used merriment marker. Ika watched the blood off, trying forget about the word. He checked his phone after wards, noting that he had fifteen minutes before his hour was up. He grabbed his usual attire; black hoodie with a white hood, and his dark grey jeans. He quickly got dressed, brushing his hair quickly. His phone started ringing just as he finished. He pulled it out, seeing the 'Eco <3' along with a picture of her. He smiled at it, and answered. "I'm ready!" She instantly said, with the sound of her front door shutting. He gave a fake laugh, "See you soon then." They exchanged their goodbyes. He went to shut his drawer, stopping when he seen the gun. Just do it, no one would care, he thought. A knock at the door made him slam it shut, shoving the thoughts away. He couldn't! Not when he had Eco! He ran down the steps, and opened the door. "Hey!" A voice said cheerfully. Eco stood there, wearing her usual. A white long sleeved shirt, then her jeans. Her light brown hair was pulled back, the pony tail resting over her shoulder, her ribbon tied around it. Ecos' blue eyes sparkled, making Ika smile. "Hey." He said casually. She smiled and hugged him. Ika hugged back. "Ready to go to the mall!?" She asked with a huge smile. The boy nodded, "let's go!

After they were done at the mall, they walked in the woods. Ika starred at the ground, lost in thought. Those thoughts? His life, of course; whether to end it, and give into his brother, or live on with the one person who loved him. "Ika?" Eco mumbled." "Hm?" He replied, not really paying attention. "Are you alright?" He nodded, however, remained starring at the ground, a smile never present. She stopped, and grabbed his hand. "I love you, Ika." He looked into her blue eyes, "I-I love you, too." A sudden laugh interrupted. "Aw, how cute! You're trying to help my pathetic brother." They both spun around, seeing none other than Kio. His black hair in the same style as Ika's, except right instead of left; he wore a white hoodie, a black hood; he wore dark grey pants; and had dark grey, almost black, eyes. The two looked identical, except for the opposite colors. "Kio..." Ika muttered, stepping back. "Hello Ika!" He said with a grin. "Leave him alone." Eco hissed, stepping between them. He laughed, "Not happening!" He continued, "Geez, I can't believe you're still alive! I figured you'd be dead by now!" Ika looked down, not saying a word. "You're a monster! Why would you do this to your family!?" Eco demanded, anger flaring threw her. Kio giggled, "Because I hate him. Because he took you from me!" She glared at him, "I never loved you, and I never will!" He chuckled, "You'll come around, as soon as he's gone." He walked forwards, "Sorry, love, but I must do this." In a flash, he punched her, hard enough to make her scream and hit the ground. "Hope you'll forgive me. And now for you." He hissed, glaring at Ika. Ika backed up and whimpered, "I-I'm sorry!" Kio laughed, grabbing him by the shirt, "Listen here, you stupid runt. No one loves you. Mom never loved you, that's why she left. Dad never loved you, that's why he took his own life. Eco never loved you; she just wanted to spare your stupid feelings. I never loved you, because you took EVERYTHING FROM ME!" He punched Ika hard in his stomach, then again, and again, and again. When he hit the ground, Kio stomped on his chest, than kicked him over and over again. Finally, with one last good kick to his face, he left. Ika got up slowly, and ran the best he could back home. He believed every word he said. He slammed his door open, and scrambled up the stairs. He pulled his drawer open, grabbing the black pistol. As he loaded it, he remembered things Eco told him:

"You're a mess, but don't worry, I'll fix you."

"You're the yin, a pure, perfect person, Kio's the yang, an evil person who doesn't deserve anything."

"You're perfect."

"Promise me you won't cut again, you're too beautiful for that."

"I'll always be there for you."

"Smile? Please? There we go! That's it! The perfect smile!"

"I love you."

He put the gun to his head. Then, with tears cascading down his face, his hands shaking. He whispered, "I l-love y-you. I-I'm so-sorr-ry..."
