A narwhal hybrid drifted threw the waters. Ross, as he was named, had a smile on his face. He had grey hair that, matching eyes along with it. He wore water proof bandages -he thought that's what they were- around his waist, chest, and shoulders. Not that he was wounded or anything, was a strange narwhal thing. His upper half was human enough, the lower half was that of a narwhal. A horn on his head, so he couldn't be mistaken as he dolphin. Ross was happily swimming in his territory. Well....he was. However, the narwhal found a drop off. An ocean trench? Maybe. The male furrowed his eyes brows, 'this wasn't here before,' he though to himself. "might as well explore!" He whispered with a smile, diving into it. The farther down he went, the colder and...more terrifying it got. It got darker, and bones could be seen. Sure, he wasn't a scout or anything, but he wanted to do something! So why not do this? He might even become famous! Maybe people wouldn't make fun of his small horn then. He pushed these thoughts aside, swimming to one of the skeletons. Maybe it was a rival? Maybe an ancient battle took place! He stopped right in front of it. However, his eyes widened in terror. It was a narwhal. It's horn cut off, then stabbed into the skull. Was that how he died? Ross shuddered, moving away. He prayed it was an ancient battle. He continued down, seeing a ways below, the bottom. The skeletons became more frequent. And he could see multiple other species. Must have been a huge battle. The ancient part melted away when he noticed flesh on the skull of an orca. Ross almost swam right back up! But, he wanted to be brave, and he's come so far! So he continued. He finally reached the bottom, thick, black sea weed curled around his tail. A huge wreck in the distance caught his eye. It looked like a pirate ship, a black flag ripped and wavering in the water. The wood was covered in some kid of algae, saying it's been here a while. Hesitantly, the hybrid approached it. He seen no one so far, so...what was this place? He was still in the narwhal boundaries...right? Ross slowly swam in the ship threw a whole, it was ripped away from the wood. He examined the insides, A collection of skulls ran along the wall. He examined each. It was an array from many different shapes. Some looked to have their flesh freshly carved off. Ross, being Ross, didn't pay attention to that, instead starring at the multiple ones with horns. He backed up slightly, a feeling of dread sinking in. He shouldn't be here. Something...wasn't right. The boy racked his mind for answers. Answers to what this was. "My my, it seems my dinners arrived!" He gasped at the unknown voice, spinning around. His eyes met yellow ones. Then he knew. It was a shark. He wasn't in his boundary! He swam to far! And here of all places! The hybrid was male, and way taller then him. Older most likely. He had dark brown hair, a black, thick streak running down one side. It covered one red and yellow eye. Scales ran from his visible eye, curving slightly in places. Scaled as well around his right and and left elbow. He wore a badly ripped black take top, as well as black ripped pants. It stopped just below his knees, and he had no shoes or anything like that. He had a long, dark black tail, dark blue speckles along the top side. He had fins on his elbows and back of the same design. All curved sharply. His mouth was wide in a smile, one that showed of sharp teeth. Lots...of sharp teeth. "What's a porpoise doing in a sharks territory?" He laughed, "Especially one so," He smirked, "Small and weak." Ross backed up the best he could, eyes darting for an escape. The shark, however, blocked the only exit. "Well? Answer me." He snarled with glinting eyes. Ross flinched, "I-I didn't kn-know th-this w-was..." The hybrid laughed, "Even seeing the victims, you still continued? Or are you just blind?" He stayed silent, visible shaking at this point. The shark's eyes narrowed at him, "And you're just in time. I haven't eaten in days." He eyed the narwhals flesh with a hungry expression. Horror crossed the boys face and his skin paled. He wanted to scream, but who would hear him? Even if someone was above, that wanted to help, it was too deep to hear anything. "You're bones would be a wonderful addition to me collection." He giggled, slowly moving closer. A thought cross the whales mind. Maybe he could run, well, swim away? Maybe if he timed it right. Ross stayed still as the sharp toothed horror came closer and closer. At the last possible second, when the opening was biggest, he bursted into action. He twisted roughly, managing to smack the carnivores face with his tail. He let out a startled yelp, dazed. In a flash, Ross swam out the opening, and as fast as he could, he swam up. His tail propelling him to what he hoped was safe. However, the shark recovered quickly. His tail was stronger and larger, and quickly he was directly under him. The creature grabbed the others tail, jerking him back down. Ross tried his best, struggling and clawing at him. But, when he sunk his sharp teeth into his tail, he stopped, screaming. He instead worked to yank him off, blood mixing with the water. In a quick motion, the dark headed boy ripped his teeth out. Taking a chunk of flesh with it. After all, that's what he wanted, right? Ross screamed louder, in tears at this point. Pain slowed his movements greatly. The shark, finally dragging him to the bottom, slammed the younger against the rocked wall. His teeth were then pressed against his neck; one bit was all it took. Ripping out his throat would surely cause his demise. The narwhal weakly pushed against the others chest, trying his best to struggle. The male moved to his shoulder, biting roughly there. He always liked playing with his food. Ross screamed again. He bit again, and again, and again! Until in left arm was covered in deep, gorey bite marks. Then, something happened. The shark looked up, his face twisted in fear, and he was gone. Just like that. Ross looked up, body shaking from the trauma and pain. His eye sight was blurry, and darkening. But he could see it in the distance. Someone in a strange suit was swimming down into the trench. A human. A human seen him.
