Can I?

Alric's Pov (2 weeks later)

It's been two weeks since Animila actually had a conversation with me. Ever since then though she won't even look at me. I would bring her her food and talk but she would keep her head turned from me. She wouldn't even utter a sound to me.

I don't get it. What did I do for her to completely ignore me? Everything seemed fine. But then she suddenly kicks me out of her room. I saw the confusion and pain in her eyes. Now she won't even acknowledge my presence.

I walk down the hallway that her room is in. It's a long hallway with only her room there. It's secluded enough for people to know it's somewhere they shouldn't be but it's still pretty open. It's not in a separate wing or dead end or anything like that.

It's after the time she eats, as I already gave her her dinner, but I just want to talk to her. I need to know what's going on.

I get to her door and I open it. I see her body is once again turned away from the door and from me. I see her playing with her chains. Her tail waves in the air. Her ear twitches slightly telling me she heard me come in.

"Hi Animila." I say.

She just stays silent, looking away from me.

I sigh. I walk to her bed and sit down.

"Animila please. At lease look at me. You haven't said anything to me or looked at me for two weeks. I rather you yell and be mean than this. Not hearing your voice or seeing your eyes. That's torture." I say.

She still stays silent.

"Come on Animila. I'll do anything. You know except for letting you go. But I'll give you anything." I say.

She doesn't respond once again.

How can I get her to respond. She suddenly turns around and I see her beautiful purple eyes that I haven't seen in weeks.

"You mean that?" She asks.

I feel so relieved to hear her voice again.

"Yes I do." I answer.

She bites her lip. I can see she is debating on something. She looks so cute like this.

"Is there something you want?" I ask.

She nods.

"What is it?" I ask.

"Well I was wondering if it is possible if I can see them again." She says softly.

She wants to see them. Of course she does. She called them family. She cares for them more than she cares for herself.

"Can I?" She asks.

I realize that I have been silent for a while. I look in to her eyes and see the pleading look she has on her face. Her purple eyes stare deep in to me.

I don't feel comfortable letting her out her room but doing so will help me in more ways than one. She will finally see something else beside the walls of her room which will make her happy. And she will also see them which she will be overjoyed with.

In the end I get to see her happy and it may put me a step closer to getting back on her good side. I may be what many would call evil but I don't want her to think of me as that.

"Sure. But I will walk you there and be close by. I don't feel comfortable with you outside of your room without me there. These people may be afraid of me but they will do some stupid stuff." I say.

Those people are really dumb. Many of them think killing Animila is all that is needed to gain power. That is just the part we all hear. But there is more to the legend. Just killing her won't give you power.

Besides even if they did get power, I will still be more powerful. I mean they killed her because they were afraid of me one. They would try to overthrow me in fear two. And my anger from them killing her would be out of control. Those first two things alone would give me more power. My anger would kill them. I also have the whole world at my feet and which everyone is afraid of me.

I am unstoppable. And I always will be. Nothing can ever be more powerful than me.

Animila suddenly hugs me tightly snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Thank you so much." She says.

I hug her back enjoying her warm embrace. I can't wait for the day where she will always be in my arms and hear her say she loves me. All that is preventing that from happening is that stupid trick. But that will be taken care of sooner or later.

"No problem. It's the least I can do. Besides it makes you happy." I say.

She pulls away and gives me a small smile. She hasn't smiled at me in years. This is amazing.

"So when can I see them?" She asks.l

"Try tomorrow." I say.

"Really?" She asks enthusiastically.

"Yes really." I say.

I get up and kiss her forehead.

"See you tomorrow. But you have to assure me that you won't go back to ignoring me after this." I say.

"You got it." She says.

I smile and walk to the door.

"Goodnight love." I say.

I open the door and start to walk out but I freeze when I hear her.

"Goodnight Alric."

She never tells me goodnight back. For that matter she never says my name without hostility. She either hisses it or growls it.

I continue walking out of her room and close her door.

That turned out way better than I expected.
