I remember the last time my father said he was proud of me..

"Lizzie, Johnny, stand closer this picture has to be perfect!" My very enthusiastic father spoke with a grin on his face. I moved closer to my surprisingly happy younger brother. I wrapped an arm around his waist, as he placed his arm around my neck and we shared an equally wide grin across our faces.
I held up my diploma and made a surprised face and laugh at myself. This was the best day of my life, I knew I would enjoy my night.
Dad looked so happy, Mom couldn't show up today though, of course.
He wants me to go to Berkeley in New York, but I want to go to California to pursue my dreams of becoming an author. He's always wanted me and my brother to have a stable financial situation, but sometimes you have to make sacrifices in order to be happy.
Dad was so ecstatic that I graduated with honors. I love him so much I don't know what I would do without him. He has really been the only constant in my life and I'm so glad to have someone like him. My brother also has been there for me when Mom decided to leave the family for her "job" it was bullshit really, but she is a kind person who cares about my well being as well. I love her too.
Johnny pinched my cheeks and screeched right next to my ear as we walked towards the family car, "I can't believe my sister is getting older than me!!!"
I swatted his hands away and snorted in amusement, "Well no shit boy I am older by three years!"
My face started to hurt from the smile I have on my face. I could feel the happiness pump through my veins when Dad says;
"I am so proud of you sweetheart, I love you."
42 days clean
"I didn't mean to take you up all your sweet time, I'll give it right back to you one of these days"
So Merry Christmas to anyone who reads this! Also, I will try to start a updating schedule in January, I wanted to post this chapter because it was a light one and since it's Christmas I thought I should give you a happy chapter for once. I want to picture Angelina Jolie as Elizabeth's mom but I just don't see the resemblance, you can picture who ever you think would look like her. But anywho thanks for reading! :* :)
