Chapter 5: Is That a Boy Or a Girl?

“Mum I can’t look after Caitlin I’m going shopping today! Can you change your work day?”  I was stood in the kitchen trying to make my annoying mum change her mind about dumping her colleague’s daughter on me for the day. She said she has to go on a ‘day trip’ apparently there was no one to look after the kid. I bet she is just going to go shopping! Which is what I want to be doing.

“Ok sure” she had her back to me making some lunch for her to take with her. She always brought food with her just in case she couldn’t find a shop to buy food from. Paranoid or what?

“Thanks mum!” I practically yelled.

“Amber please be quiet I’m on the phone” she turned around to reveal a Bluetooth in her ear. That’s just brilliant! She wasn’t even listening to me. She had gotten my hopes up!

Caitlin was weaving her way through the crowd it was really hard to keep up. I had lost sight of May whilst trying to follow Caitlin without bumping into anyone. But me being accident prone I was bound to bump into someone.

My right shoulder hit into someone I looked up Ella was standing in front of me with a disgusted look on her face.

“What?” I asked.

“Don’t pretend like you don’t know, slut” I was so taken back by what she called me I just gawked at her. She seems pretty satisfied by my reaction and walked off laughing followed by her two sheep Morgan and Kayla. I’d seen them at school it’s no understatement when I say they practically worshiped her.

“There you are” May’s voice broke me out of my shock. Caitlin was stood next to her eating a biscuit. Relief flooded me.

“Never run off like that again”

“I won’t I just really wanted this biscuit, May bought it for me” She grabbed May and gave her a massive hug.

After vising nearly every toy shop and cloths shop, Caitlin had got a new Barbie and May had found the perfect outfit for the party. We were walking round when I heard an irritating high pitched laugh. I instantly knew who it belonged to. Caitlin looked in the direction it was coming from she yelled out. “Is that a girl or a boy?” her hand extended in the direction of Ella. Me and May looked at each other we burst out laughing.

Judging by the look on Ella’s face she was not happy. The look on her face was priceless I can’t believe I didn’t want to bring Caitlin. After this I think I should volunteer to bring her out with me more often. Ella got up and stomped off followed by her two worshippers, obviously not happy with what Caitlin had said.

I felt arms hug my waist from behind, a deep laughter was erupting from the person behind me. I turned my head around it was Luke behind me.

“The look on her face was priceless”

I was not expecting him to say that...

Today I was meeting mums boss.

I decided on wearing a while flowy dress, it was quite short it came mid-way down my thigh. I put on my tan sandals and pinned my hair into a quiff.

I was continuously fiddling with my charm bracelet. I sat down at a long brown table which was decorated beautifully. A tall lady with brown hair was dressed in a blouse and skinny jeans. She was beautiful he skin was flawless she had a kind genuine smile.
