. Chapter 1 .
Today was horrible. The teacher was terrified because the class snake got out. It was a highly venomous rattlesnake. High school is NOT a breeze. It can kick your butt. And that's what happened today.
"What you doin' Daisy Waisy!?" taunted Raquelle, the "popular" girl. As I was walking home.
"I think that we should give her a little scare!" said Mariella and Caitlynne.
Raquelle pulled out a handheld BB gun. (54 black star)
"What's wrong? You scared, you little baby?" Said Raquelle.
I started to tremble. You see, when I was little, I was at a Kwik-Mart and a man came in with a gun (54 black star) and tried to kill my mom. She was telling him to spare my life. He was shaking and aimed for her. It hit her in the leg. He meant to kill her, but thank goodness he didn't get her somewhere on her torso. She grabbed a brand new pocket knife off of the shelf while he was coming after me, walked up to him, and stabbed him in the back. She then called the police. They came and took my mom away for questioning. Of course, I didn't know this at the time. I was at my grandma's. Of course... I have been scared of guns ever since.
"You don't know what to do, do you you little baby!?" taunted Mariella
"Yeah!" Caitlynne agreed.
"I-I don... " I tried to say.
She tried to shoot me. But...
"Why isn't this stupid thing working?!" Said Raquelle.
"Here." I said as I took the gun from her.
"Wha-What are you doing?!" She replied angrily.
"Watch and learn." I said as I set up a can on top of a bucket. "First, you need to take the safety off."
"What?!" asked Raquelle.
I ignored her and pointed the gun at the pop can. I shot the gun. Perfect hit!
"Ho-How did you do that?" asked Raquelle.
"Here. Take it." I said as I gave the BB gun back to her.
She freaked out and ran off. Her friends followed. I got mad that she always picked on me and started to ramble off swear words. Just then, I felt a wave of energy. Fire flew out of my fingers! I held my hand up and screamed. Just then, a girl came from behind a corner. I looked at her and she ran off, probably terrified, at what she just saw. The next thing that happened was a little stranger. Air flew out of my mouth and palms!
"What the heck?" I said terrified.
When I got home, I told my parents what had happened. They were afraid of what would happen if I stayed, so they told me to go to my room while they talked... When they called me back into the room, there was a knock on the door. My dad let them in. There were policemen. They came in and stood in the living room.
"Daisy Matthews?" A policeman asked thoughtfully.
"Yeah..." I said.
"We need to ask you a few questions." Said another policeman.
I sat down on my old, comfortable couch.
"Just relax." The first one said.
"O-Okay." I said.
"What happened today?" He asked.
"Um... I was walking home, and a girl named Raquelle and her friends were walking up to me."
"And?"
"Well, they..." I told them all about it and when I got to the powers part, their faces looked frightened.
"Well... Let us talk to your parents about this and we'll decide what to do." He said.
"Okay." I said as I walked down the hallway slowly. This is what I heard when I was walking down the hallway.
"We have to take her." The first policeman said forcefully.
"No!" My dad said uncomfortably. "W-We need her." He said sadly.
"Why?" Said another policeman.
"Because she is our rescue! She's adopted!" He yelled quietly. "Her real parents died!"
When he said this, I froze. I was just about to open my sad bedroom door. It had chipped reddish-pink paint, and it had the name, "Daisy" written on it with a little daisy flower on the end of the word. The next thing I did was freak out. I ran into my soundproof room, closed the door, and screamed. I couldn't hear them anymore. All I could hear were my own thoughts.
I can't believe this! I thought wearily. What do I do now?! I had so many thoughts running through my head right then. Do I go with them or stay here?! I mean, these aren't even my real parents! Now that I think about it, I thought, I remember sitting in a room full of little girls and bunk beds. A really mean lady would come in now and then and yell at us to either "Clean up the room!" or, "Make our beds." When she said these things, she usually ended them with, "... or you can't have food!" It was like my memory was fogged up for so long!
After that, I thought that I could close my eyes for just a moment. When I closed them, I accidentally fell asleep
