Paul sat there, lost in his own thoughts until he heard his bedroom door opening and the distinctive noise of someone walking across the laminate floor barefoot. He looked up to see Hannah padding towards him and smiled unconsciously at the sight of her in his t-shirt with her hair mussed from sleep.
"Hey." She murmured, rounding the edge of the sofa and immediately settling herself down in his lap before looking up at him accusingly. "You left me."
'You were so far gone that you could barely keep your eyes open!" Paul chuckled.
"That's not the point." Hannah grumbled. She shifted slightly so she could cuddle closer, laying her head on his shoulder as she squeezed her arm between his body and the end of the sofa. "I got used to waking up next to you."
"There'll be plenty more opportunities for that." Paul reassured her, running his fingertips up and down her bare arm. Hannah shivered and drew her knees towards her.
"Your flat's a bit chilly when you're only wearing a t-shirt. I'm going back to bed." Hannah decided, kissing Paul on the neck before getting up from his lap. When it looked like he was just going to let her go, she spoke up. "You coming with me? Don't let me wake up on my own again!"
Hannah held her hands out and wiggled her fingers, smirking as Paul rolled his eyes but took her hands in his, standing up and letting her pull him back towards his room. As Paul kicked the door shut behind him, Hannah reached up to pull him down into a kiss.
"You gonna warm me up then?" Hannah smirked against his lips, backing up until her legs hit the side of the mattress, her hands working on Paul's belt.
"Well, I can try my be..." Paul began before pulling his head back and glancing over Hannah's shoulder at something on the bed. "Fuck! I forgot about Nigel!"
"Nigel?" Hannah asked, looking behind her to see what Paul was on about. As she spotted what was peeking out of the top of the duvet, she twigged, letting out a sigh. "Right. Nigel."
Paul proceeded to sit down on the edge of the bed, reaching over to grab the object that had caught his attention. "Where did you even find him?!"
"I sat on him when I was hiding in your wardrobe. But that's besides the point." Hannah responded, but Paul was paying her no attention.
"I can't believe he's still in such good nick!"
"Paul!" Hannah cried out. "I'm stood here half naked. Are you really more interested in a fucking inflatable flamingo? Because if you are, I think I'm gonna get dressed and find another way to warm up."
Paul suddenly realised the situation and looked up from where he'd started blowing up the bright pink piece of plastic, seeing Hannah stood there with an exasperated look on her face and her hands on her hips. The air began to escape from Nigel with a soft hiss as he deflated, his head starting to drop forlornly.
"I think Nigel is having a bit of trouble keeping it up." Hannah smirked
"Well, maybe you need to have a go blowing then?" Paul replied nonchalantly, though the slight smile and the raised eyebrows gave away his real intentions.
"That has got to be the cheesiest line I have ever heard." Hannah groaned, making her way back towards the bed and straddling Paul's lap.
"Got you back over here though, didn't it?" Paul chuckled, bringing a hand up to Hannah's waist to hold her in place.
