~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~When I was a little girl, I believed in the impossible, and I still do. The things normal people didn't quite understand.
Things like demons and angels, from both Heaven and Hell. I knew they were out there. I just hadn't seen them until 4 years ago.
That was the day my life first starting heading down a dangerous path.
It was the last day of school, and I was on my way home. Next year I'd be going to high school, I was super excited! Come on who wouldn't be?
I felt like more of a young adult instead of a child. It was a big deal.
When I got to my house the door was wide open. I had found it a little strange, but just figured that my mom had left it open for me.
As I walked through the doorway, I slipped on something red landing right on my butt.
To my absolute horror it was blood, and there was a lot of it. A trail leading up the now torn stairs.
Dropping the rest of my books onto the floor, I dashed up the stairs without a second thought.
When I reached the top of the steps tear stung my eyes. Her door was open, the whole room trashed.
I walked inside to look for her, hope for her to be alive and well dwelling in my chest.
But, came to a halt when I saw the bloody handprints on her vanity mirror. Laying sprawled out next to the bathroom door was my mom...dead.
A horrifying creature with 8 legs, and multiple eyes lunged at me with hands covered in my mom's blood.
I felt sick and had this horrible urge to crawl into a ball, and start crying. Instead I stood in my place and turned my head waiting for the pain to come.
But, I was met with an ear-piercing screeching noise.
Something threw me hard against to wall, landing in broken glass. My body cried out in pain, but I was paralyzed in fear and horror.
Standing above me was the demon-like creature with a golden, glowing sword slicing through its green slimy chest.
Silver blood spilling through its hold and spilling on the floor. It's blood red eyes wide open, unmoving.
Drawing me back to reality was a strong muscled body picking me up. I peered up only to be captured by his piercing green eyes, so intense I was at a loss for words.
He had raven black hair that curled past his ears, and glowing white skin. I looked past him only to find giant silvery, feathered wings.
He didn't speak a word, but by the look on his face he was silently sympathizing my loss. I looked towards my mother, and tears poured down my now red and flushed cheeks.
Her blonde hair matted in red with open eyes filled with pure fear and horror.
I broke free from his from the man's arms, and painfully crawled over to my mom. I reached to her face and gently closed her misty blue eyes.
Turning away not long after, because I couldn't bear to see her like this. But I knew her eyes would haunt me for the rest of my life.
My breathing was sloppy and ragged mangled with tears that wouldn't stop, no matter how hard I tried.
"She's..." I started to say, but my voice had been caught in my throat. Everything hurt so much.
"I know." His rough voice said without emotion. Concern showed clearly through his eyes, but other than that his voice was vacant of expression.
My arm burned, but I was pushing out the pain. Suddenly the world seemed all to real, and black dots blurred my vision.
When I couldn't take it anymore I finally closed my eyes, allowing the blackness to consume me.
Waking up, my nose was ambushed by the smell of death and despair.
I was laid in a hospital bed with doctors surrounding me.
"Miss Falls? Can you hear me?" One of them asked shining a flashlight in my face.
I wanted to answer, but I couldn't. My mind was too overwhelmed by the memories flooding through me.
"My mom-my mom." Was the only words coming out of my mouth.
The person looked at me sympathetically. "Oh I'm so sorry." Another said. "You poor thing."
"Excuse me." A woman's voice said through all the conversations going on. "May I speak with her alone?"
They nodded and trailed out of the room leaving me and this strange female.
She sighed heavily before sitting down in the chair next to the bed. "We need to talk about something."
