For the next couple of weeks, everyone started working on the details for the wedding. Carson was looking for good catering businesses and Hannah was left bewildered, where had the time gone?
Nancy went over to George's house where they met up with Bess. They were working on picking out the bride's side of guests.
"Wait! I thought of someone!" Nancy said.

"Who?" the cousins asked.

"Moira. She has to come," Nancy muttered getting out her cell phone.
It rung a couple of times before she finally answered.
"Hello?" said Moira.

"Hi Moira, how are you?" She asked.

"Oh Nancy! It's so good to hear from you again!" Moira exclaimed.

"It's nice to hear you too. The reason I called is because I wanted to let you know that you're invited to my wedding." Nancy said.

"Little Nancy is getting married! I'm so excited I'll book my plane ticket right away!"

Nancy and Bess dialed Kyler next.
"Hello Nancy! How are you?" she answered.

"Hi, I'm doing well. Do you remember Ned?"

"I sure do remember your boyfriend!" Kyler joked.

"Well, fiancé actually." Bess replied.

"Really? That's great! I'm so happy for you! When's the wedding?"

"That's why we're calling. We wanted to invite you and the sooner you can come down, the sooner we can pick out dresses." Nancy said.

"Sounds like a plan! I'll be down in a couple of days. Congrats, Nanc!" Kyler said hanging up.

" Anyone else?" Bess asked.

" The Hardy Boys, " Nancy muttered.
Bess handed Nancy the phone. George smiled at her reassuringly. Something told them Frank wouldn't take it that well. Nancy's heart raced as the phone rang. Then, she heard their voice.

"Hello?" Joe asked.

"Hi, it's Nancy. Is Frank there too?" she asked.

"Yep. We're right here. What's going on?"

Nancy's hands trembled. Bess and George gave her a reassuring pat.

"Well, Ned and I are getting married. You two are invited,"

"That's great, Nanc!" Joe exclaimed.

Nancy heard the sound of a door close on the other end of the phone.

" Joe? Is he alright?"

" Yeah, he's fine. He's happy for you. We'll be there," Joe said reassuringly.

They shared their goodbyes and Nancy set the phone down. Bess and George could tell she was uneasy.

"Nancy, are you alright?" Bess asked.

" I thought Frank would be happy for me,"

"I'm sure he is. It's just a lot to take in, you know?" George said.

"Hey, Kyler messaged me when you were on the phone and says she'll be here tomorrow. Why don't we go get your dress then?" Bess said giving her a side hug.

"That sounds great. You two are the best."

Nancy drove back to her home. Inside, Ned was waiting with some takeout from Pancake City.

" So, Bess said something was bothering you. What's going on? " he asked.

" I called Frank and Joe to tell them they're invited to the wedding, and Frank didn't even acknowledge it. I thought he would be happy."

" I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure he is. Just give him time." Ned said.

" I'm going to get the dress tomorrow. I'm afraid you can't come," Nancy smiled.

"And why ever not?" he asked acting hurt.

"It's bad luck!" Nancy laughed.

Ned picked Nancy up and they joked around with each other. Nancy quit thinking about everything else and focused on her future.
