"No one ever found out that the man had been injured or had even heard the gunshot. And Wes promised me that he would never let anything happened to me. I should've known."
Violet didn't exactly know why she was telling Luke this. Maybe because she still had a bit of booze left in her and she was emotionally unstable. Or maybe she hadn't felt obligated to let someone in on her feelings since Wes. But she needed to let her emotions be as hey we're even if she was drunkingly telling her troubled past to a very attractive blonde sex God.
"And being the 'oh so in love' stupid girl I was back then, I trusted him. I let myself believe that he really would protect me. Until one night..I saw red and blue flashing lights outside of my window a-and I ran downstairs. And then I saw my parents faces absolutely shocked. Mortified even. And then I-I was arrested. He turned me in Luke." She cried harder and he kept his distance not quite knowing what to do.
No one ever trusted him that much before and he didn't know quite how to handle it. He knew she was upset about it.
I mean your lover turning you in for a crime? That's gotta be tough.
In his mind Luke never had a 'bad life'. He woke up, did whatever he wanted with whoever he wanted. He was an adult after all. That wasn't a bad life right?
"I'm sorry I-I don't really know why I'm dumping all this on you. You probably think I'm some psycho." Violet shrugged it off like it was nothing wiping her tears away. She felt stupid.
"No baby, it's fine. Sometimes it's better to tell a complete stranger something. You just needed to let try emotions out I get it." He said looking at he softly.
What was up with all of this Romeo and Juliet shit? Luke wasn't the loveable type. He was the 'I don't care take care of your own fucking problems' kind of guy. Then Violet strolled on by and something changed in him. And he didn't like it. He wanted his own self back.
